I'd trim references to Luke saying things like "Yoda spoke of another" and Ben's "The other he spoke of was your twin sister" ....(kids remember when Yoda mentioned a mysterious 'other' three years ago and you were really excited about who this new character was going to be? Well read on...).

actually it wasnt "three years ago" it was only a few minutes before!

Yoda:  "Luuke.....Luuuke when gone am i the last of the jedi will you be...Luuuke there.....is....another.....sky...walk...er"

Yes but the scene that the author is flagging up is in ESB (which was released three years before ROTJ).

Yoda refers to another Skywalker but from then on in Ben and Luke talk of "the other" or "another" in clear reference to "No, there is another" which was a  major hanging thread from the last film (originally to introduce a new major character that vanished when Lucas fell out of love with Star Wars).

In the theatrical cut that thread doesn't really come to anything (Leia doesn't become a Jedi on screen) but it could turned so that Yoda predicts Anakin's return and that he is the 'other' hope (which on screen he is).

Yoda's "there is another" line was just inserted to give the audience the idea that Luke was expendable. He wasn't guaranteed to come out of his rescue attempt alive. But it's obvious in ROTJ that Luke isn't referring to that line because when it was originally said he was in his freaking spaceship and had already lifted off. Sure you could make some wibbly-wobbly handwave and say he heard it through the Force, but it seems much more sensible to say he's referring to Yoda's "another Skywalker" a minute before.

Luke is referring to Yoda's deathbed scene, Lucas is referring to the annoying (for him) hanging thread left over from the previous episode made when he wanted to make a much larger saga about the adventures of the Skywalker family and not just about Luke's dad.

ROTJ as it currently stands does feel like the "Oh bugger I can't be bothered with this anymore, let's get it over and done with as quickly as possible" entry to the OT.

While it may not be possible for us to pop into a time machine and reprogram George into allowing the same team that made ESB such a great film to carry on, the least we can do is try and rescue what is there from feeling so much like a thrown in towel.

I read that as "Thrawn in towel" and had disturbing images of the Grand Admiral stepping out of the shower. *shiver*

This is a very basic render to demonstrate the idea.

Im with bingowings adding more shots of lasers even in new angles.or even multiple shots from various angles. I still have to remember what was said about these shots

This guy recreated the opening chapter of RotJ 100% CGI. The characters aren't very good, but the ships and alternate angles of the DS2 are great!

Not so radical i was expecting 005 :( Still the death star looks small.

I didnt not design it but enhance it. 3d max with vray ;)

Most interesting thing I've seen all day.  Great idea!

I think the Ewoks should be kept cute in the first part of the film, so it would come as a surprise when they turn into wild bloodthirsty savage variors later, kinda like Gremlins ;-)

These are the same Ewoks that have just tried to eat our heroes.

I'm more for showing them to be surprisingly hard as nails from the get go and that they have already been attacking the invaders of their world.
