Well, I’ve had several people ask me to record the “HD Remaster” of City Hunter off Animax, and I’ve got what, 48 out of 51 eps of it?

I’ve thought of doing GT with the Animax audio that my team capped, but the Z fiasco’s got me a bit demotivated, and I no longer have the Green Bricks to add the English audio properly the way I did back in 2009…

I was involved with Kienai’s sub of Detective Conan Episode “ONE”, the TV movie, and have been providing some moral support (their translator went through some serious hell recently, I don’t want to talk about it here except to say exes can be terrible sometimes). I’ll probably be working with Kienai more on Conan projects since The Moonlighters doesn’t really have the staff right now.

I’m the timer for Some-Stuffs’ Pokémon Sun & Moon subs (it’s a few of us who worked on Dragon Ball Super for Dragon Team before Crunchyroll took it over).

That’s not to mention my back burner projects…

I’ve been trying to get a GT project with the English dub off the ground for a while. I own both the Green Bricks and the singles.

Haha, I have only just recently started to get into anime (Death Note was my virgin cruise!) and Dragon Ball has always been something that I’ve known about but never really had the time for because of the huge amount of episodes. Now I just decided one morning that I need to see the whole series, starting from the original Dragon Ball. Then I began to read all about the different releases and color corrections etc. Dragon Boxes, Season sets, Levels sets and oh boy… so much information. 😄

Someone recommended WinxBloom1980’s DBZ to me but that ship seems to have sailed. It had the broadcast audio too if I understood correctly?

The video, too? o.o Well, 1-34 are from the Levels BDs, 35-39 from the Levels as streamed on Xbox Live, and the rest were from the Dragon Boxes (R1, mostly, but an ep or two was from the R2s), so all my source was OAR.

I managed to find that set and grabbed it. Is there a particular reason the broadcast audio is mono? I thought it was originally aired stereo, but perhaps the source captures weren’t in stereo?

No, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z were only ever in mono. Toei didn’t switch to stereo audio until a few episodes into GT. Well, aside from the thirteenth Z movie. That was stereo too.

Just out of curiosity, did Funimation ever do Dragon Box for the original series? Did they EVER release it with the eye-catches and previews?
