^I think we took a wrong turn…
Well the ILM visual fx chief suggested to start a petition and he would back it.
It’s not like I thought of it. To be honest I have not signed it but I think if Chewie rips an aliens arms off in it. Yeah I want to see it.
are these deleted scenes a marketing ploy they are not even showing the full scenes so perhaps it’s a tease.
You will either have to crop the top out, then adjust the aspect ratio, or you’ll have to crop the left side out and adjust the aspect ratio. As for rotoscoping, I don’t know how that’d be possible to do on all scenes. Disney pulled one on those planning to make fan edits.
Speaking of them pulling one of us…has it been confirmed if the audio and video tracks are separate or are they conjoined like in the PT?

What?
Presumably he meant voice tracks and effects/music.
^ that’s probably what I meant and couldn’t convey well enough

You don’t know what you meant?

NONE OF THOSE ARE VIDEO
For the love of fuck…If you’re editing the PT there is only one audio track meaning that you can’t separate dialogue from music from sound effects and I know that must have made it a bitch to edit. Unlike a trilogy like the Nolan Batman films where there are like 2-3 audio tracks. All I want to know is if the BR Rips of TFA are the same. That’s all.

Not technically true, there are multiple channels (5.1 has FL, FR, C, RL, RR, LFE). Some movies (The Room, for example) have all the music in the FL/FR tracks and all the dialogue in the C channel. Effects are in the C channel as well (although there’s hardly any due to, you know, it being The Room). Star Wars has all sorts of stuff going on in the various channels and I’m sure this one is no different.
Also, it’s not my fault you don’t know what you mean or that audio and video are different things.
So you can’t answer my question?
Hopefully someone else can.
I can tell you it’s extremely unlikely.
Well…that is reassuring.
How the audio tracks are handled will determine how good TFA Fanedits can be. Imagine how much better PT Fanedits would be if we could separate dialogue from music and sound effects.
I would imagine that the deleted scenes at best only have a 2.0 channel stereo mix at best. I doubt the studio would want to spend a lot of time finishing mixing 5.1 audio for scenes that were cut or incomplete. That would drive their cost up… This is because audio mixing usually one of the last steps in post for a AFX perspective.

I don’t think this would help much.

Perhaps but they would be a lot more presentable.

You’re right. Stereo 320 kbps AC3. What a shame. We seem to have gotten the short end of the stick, and had our hopes up for something great. Seems Lucasfilm under Disney may be just as bad.
Palpatine: Make the galaxy great again!
Maybe someone can remove the timestamp with an AviSynth logo remover?
Prequel Fan-Edit thread: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Yet-another-series-of-prequel-edits/id/17329
I can give you all the great news that none of the deleted scenes are any good, and therefore would not be good for a fan edit. so the timecode watermark doesn’t matter. (watched on my bluray that was delivered on april 4th - since apparently it is no longer something you can assume)
I’ve made a rough extended version with the deleted scenes. Far from complete, just a rough draft at the moment.
The only solid way to remove the timestamp is cropping and re-sizing the aspect ratio to match the rest of the film. Rotoscoping may be possible, however insanely unlikely, but I have not the time nor the patience for that, but if someone else wants to they can be my guest.
The deleted scenes also don’t really match up too well with the ‘theatrical’ cut (it isn’t theatrical at all, but that’s for another thread), there’s a lot of color correction and sound editing that needs to be done, so I’ll start work on that soon.
It’s impossible to include every segment of each deleted scene in the film though so some have to be trimmed, as is a couple of them make no sense due to abrupt endings.
I really don’t see these adding much of anything to the film.
