How can you not? It’s satisfying! Or at least it is when you’re the one crunching. I guess it’s more the feel than the sound.
Yeah, that’s annoying. People are freaking out a bit too much over Omicron, methinks.
The people dying in hospitals from Covid beg to differ
I meant that Omicron is less serious than other variants and people are reacting as if it were far more serious.
I think it’s because of the name. I mean, it’s hard to say “Omicron” and not imagine some sci-fi supervillain. “Behold the most powerful Sith in history, Darth Omicron!”

I feel so goddamn empty. I just feel completely indifferent to anything and everything. Nothing brings me joy.
Wait a minute, I’m just sleep deprived!
I’ve felt like this a number of times. I feel ye.
When’s something gonna happen?
At this point I just want Covid to be over and for everyone to get on with their lives.
Ditto.
When’s something gonna happen?
I don’t like the sound of crunching apples
I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.
Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

It seems the vast majority of entertainment news articles and videos have become the equivalent of the National Enquirer or The Sun, but we have people treating them as gospel. There must be profit in it, so people must have just lost the ability to properly evaluate sources.
Removing the dislike count is without a doubt the absolute worst decision YouTube has ever made.
I’m so disappointed in YouTube.
When’s something gonna happen?
Yeah, I didn’t really get their motivation for doing that.
Yeah, I didn’t really get their motivation for doing that.
I’m 90% sure they just did it to make Rewind 2018 look less embarrassing for them. Because that “help small creators” excuse is a major load of BS.

And probably also protect the public image of massive corporations afraid of people being able to express discontent with them. I don’t believe they did this in the interest of helping regular content creators in the slightest.
“Remember, the Force will be with you. Always.”

Many people says this as well. This is the likeliest explanation.
Overall this is why I barely use YouTube anymore.
I wonder when they’ll completely remove the comment section because of ‘bullying small creators’.
When’s something gonna happen?
I feel so goddamn miserable. I think it’s the quarantine.

Hey, I feel you too, but why have you had so many outbursts here? I used to as well, which is why I’m asking. Do you have a history of mental disorders? I do.
When’s something gonna happen?
I’ve generally had a rough life mentally speaking. I’ve had long stretches of times when I’m not well. This just happens to be the place I choose to vent about it. I think it’s cuz I’m not good at making and keeping close friends.
I don’t like to vent about personal issues. I’m afraid it gives too solid a form to problems. If we don’t talk about things they go away right? I’m fairly tired of this pandemic. Working from home has been the biggest change and that is hard. I’m lucky to be able to do so but I need a more fulfilling job. Mostly I’m tired of the anxiety and opinions people have about the virus. The entire spectrum of views is represented across my family. Sometimes I’m tired of my pandemic beard.
The blue elephant in the room.
On that topic, of course nobody believed the Jan. 20th return to in-person my university initially gave. Now they’ve pushed it off roughly two weeks to Feb. 2nd which seems more plausible. That’s actually the day I’m set to get my booster shot.
Anyone else miss the act of play as an adult? Be it inside with action figures or LEGO or outside with foam swords and imagination. I wanna reinject some of that into my life. Really make the physical world more than just a hub for all our digital activities. At this point the real world barely feels real. Everything is trapped in the theoretical of the online world as we stare at screens all day.

The tricky part is getting away from the computer and the phone in the first place. I spent 2 weeks on vacation with no phone and only used a computer when necessary. I slept great, went to bed early, and had fun. Should be easier to something so simple that makes one feel good…
I admire lego sets but I can’t justify spending $100+ on what I’d like.
I’ve never played a RPG like D&D and while I like the concept, the spreadsheets and mechanics seem so tedious and clunky. Not that I can think of a better way.
I think about spending time playing music, writing, or some kind of craft. But the internet is quicker, easier, more seductive.

That’s exactly why I quit LEGO. I loved it dearly but I couldn’t justify the expense.

They 100% are. Every time I’ve tried playing DnD it was absolutely tedious. It’s like trying to run a video game RPG on paper. Simplify the rules ffs.

For sure.
Anybody get really ticked off with bad YouTube tutorials?
I either get somebody with a foreign accent that mumbles more than Jar Jar Binks after he gets his tongue Zapped by the podracer.Or I end up with a video that keeps buffering and the person in the video is taking forever to get to the point. Reminds me of Harvey Korman in the holiday special telling Lumpy how to put his transmitter together.
Or Worse some idiot writing in Notepad. If I wanted to read I wouldn’t go on YouTube.
That one is so dumb I can’t think of a Star Wars comparison.
Agreed. But now that the dimwits at YouTube headquarters have removed the dislike count, that situation will be X2 worse!

Get a bunch of old legos on eBay or something, start putting something together and see where it goes from there.
That’s the great thing about lego, you can built whatever you want and be creative and of something doesnt work out the way you immagined, you change it.
I mean that’s where all the lego memories come from isn’t it? What you remember is sitting on the floor next to a pile of bricks, actually playing with them and not following building instructions… So why would you follow building instructions to get that feeling back?
“Vader! Hologram, now!”
I really love talking about movies, especially Star Wars. I’ve found a few places to chat, but honestly I’m getting closer to just avoiding internet forums altogether. There’s too many hyperbolic pot-stirring trolls who just want incite arguments, arrogant blowhards incredibly proud of their completely subjective opinions, and ignorant misogynistic racist bigots who are intolerant of anyone different than them.
It depends where you go. Centralized platforms like Reddit get a lot of that crap but small indie forums like here tend to be pretty clean, at least in my experience, but it varies.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking for several years the key with LEGO would be return to basics. No licensed themes, no preconceived story, just working with what you have.
I’m not liking my new job. It’s crushing me and I feel miserable.

How long have you been there? Is it more the work or the people?
