I hate perring during a movie.

Oh I was drinking lol. I took my sprite into the bathroom and poured a couple shots of gin in it.

Next time I want to hear you say, “I took a bottle of gin and poured a couple shots of Sprite into it.”
Don’t do drugs, unless you’re with me.
Also, despite my rampant alcoholism causing me to often drink a pint of rum/whisky/vodka during a movie, only once in ten years I had to run to the bathroom in the middle. Shit, one time I even drank a fifth during a movie and still didn’t hear nature calling.

Also also, Warbler there was no post-credits scene so you didn’t miss anything. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Star-Wars-Force-Awakens-Have-Post-Credits-Scene-J-J-Abrams-Answers-98507.html

Halfway through the movie, I was flashing back to this episode of Animaniacs myself. 😉
Thankfully I didn’t order a drink.
Did I mention there was an empty bottle of whiskey in the men’s room at my theater?
Where were you in '77?
If I ever get drunk in public, you can rested assured in the knowledge that I will take full advantage of the situation by making a complete spectacle of myself.
Sure, I’ll most likely end up sleeping it off in a jail cell, but what a story it’ll make in the local news.

Sounds romantic. What’s the address?
(Asking for a Frin–I mean, friend.)
The Star Wars Bad Lip Reading videos were disappointing. There are bits of goodness (like Lando & Nein Numb), but most of it isn’t up to the usual BLR standard.
The ‘Bushes of Love’ song at the end of the Star Wars one was funny, but the full version is a let down. There’s hardly any lip reading going on! That chorus is catchy though…
NBA DFS requires too much monitoring of lineup info to be worth my time.
I’d like to b**** about what is happening in the Supergirl TV series. Its like the writers decided that Kat would find out Supergirl’s identity and then they changed their minds. wfh? Take a look at that scene in episode 8 where Kara takes her glasses off in front of Kat, she as good as confessed she was Supergirl! Kat called her Supergirl after she took her glasses off and Kara failed to deny it! Then suddenly at the beginning of episode 9 it is just a suspicion again?!?!?! I hereby throw the bs flag.

I’d say their shining work are the Hunger Game BLR’s and some Walking Dead stuff. But yeah, the Star Wars ones weren’t all that great.

Um…Gang Fight!!!
I wish I had the money/connections to commission talented comic artists like George Perez to create comic book adaptations of my screenplays.

How am I gonna show that cowboy I’m alive?
In a nutshell, here’s what “General Star Wars Discussion”'s been for the past couple weeks now:
TFA DETRACTOR: I don’t like TFA (provides reasons why).
TFA DEFENDER: I like TFA (provides reasons why).
TFA DETRACTOR: I don’t agree with you (provides reasons why TFA defender’s wrong).
TFA DEFENDER: Well, I don’t agree with you (provides reasons why TFA detractor’s wrong).
TFA DETRACTOR: Shithead.
TFA DEFENDER: Fucktard.
*repeat ad nauseum*
Quoth my sister, “BORINNNNNNNNG”.
You’re welcome.
Again, I don’t mind well-reasoned criticism. I have agreed with some of it. I just can’t stand people who nitpick to death or didn’t even pay attention to what they were watching.
Honestly, if you weren’t planning to like the movie in the first place, don’t bother seeing it.
This is a Star Wars forum and TFA is a Star Wars movie, of course it is going to get nitpicked to death. May I remind you this forum is called originaltrilogy.com? What else did you expect?
Even if the person in question wasn’t planning to like it, if the person is Star Wars fan(just about every member here is), the person is still going to see the movie.
I agree with your point about not paying attention. It is difficult to accurate criticize movie when you don’t know exactly what happened in it.
Just so you know where I am coming on this move. I rate TFA right smack in the middle of the gap between the greatness of the oot and the lousiness of the pt.
It’s probably been the most activity General Discussion has seen in a long time. I’m not an old member by any means, but I remember when I joined, it seemed as if Star Wars Fan Edits and off topic sections were the most active in comparison to General Star Wars discussion. I pretty much left since most of the fan edits I was keeping tabs on died out (I remember some guy doing a radical fan edit of RotS, almost alike to Adywan level of stuff but oh well).
Also, despite the rage going on, I find some value to it. Sometimes, after I watch something profound to me, I immediately seek out others’ opinions. This way, I can see the other side and then it prompts me to think of counter points and/or agree with some of the criticisms. Therefore, I get a more polished view of whatever I hold to a standard.

Thanks, I forgot.

Reasonable criticism.

If hating a movie is all you love, then that’s what you’ll receive.
Pretty dumb going to see a movie you plan on hating, if you ask me. I have better things to do with my time, like endlessly argue with other nerds on the internet.

Which is perfectly reasonable. We have some loony-bins claiming it’s as bad or worse than the prequels. That’s objectively insane.

Or that the Thrawn Trilogy’s as bad as TPM.
Well it’s pointless to compare books to a movie, for starters.
Maybe the SW General Discussion needs two threads?
One for expressing general appreciation of TFA and specific elements that were enjoyed (Spoilers) with no detractors allowed, and another for general annoyance and the specific elements that annoyed (again, spoilers) with defenders welcome to come and troll.
You’re welcome.

Some people weren’t going to like it no matter what it was. If it had been more original, it ‘wouldn’t have been star wars’, but instead it was a rip off. And like you said, some people actually wanted to hate it no matter what, whether they even realize it themselves or not. Some are just so used to star wars sucking that they weren’t prepared to let that go. In my opinion anyway.
