Website said it was still available for pickup today so I ordered it, I guess I’ll just wait and see what happens at this point. Still, a large number of people interested in the lost episodes of Doctor Who in my tiny southern town full of rednecks and the like seems unlikely to me.

I was pissed the theatrical showing of Power Of The Daleks last November was scuttled by technical issues. (And there was never an encore.) Didn’t realize that there were so many Whovians in my neck of the woods either.
Not sure whether to pick up the Blu Ray version or buy a UK DVD from my usual Ebay source. Having a region free player has spared me the insane prices older Who discs command these days in the states.

I went to Walmart today to get the new Power of the Daleks dvd.
Oh, that’s out now? Consider it ordered. Impulsive purchasing? You bet, but I’d hate for it to go out-of-print like the other Doctor Who DVDs and then go for $90 before I know it.

I’m sick of being a nonentity to most everyone I know, and I’m sick of not having any opportunities to meet new people. I’m very alone and tired. Not sure what to do to change that.

I’m surprised to read your words, Handman. I’ve liked you from day 1. Your value does not derive from what others think of you. You are unique and valuable, independent of anyone else’s thoughts or ignorance of you.
I’m with Ender on the surprise and liking you since you first walked in, Handman. You make great contributions to the conversations around here and seem like a cool guy.

Thanks for the encouragement. I didn’t know I made much an impression to be liked or not, but the feeling is mutual. I don’t like broadcasting my problems, as they’re insignificant next to the power of the Force – er, the problems of others, but sometimes it just gets me down. Thanks again for the words of encouragement, especially to Ender and Ray, but the sentiment is shared with all who responded.

If anyone here is a nonentity (no wise-acher comments please), it’s me, so don’t sell yourself short. Not everyone finds their stride at the same time and place. As long as you stay true to yourself, the rest will fall in to place, as it should. It can be hard to admit to for sure, but whether it matters to anyone else or not, what matters to you is important.
I happen to find your presence here very refreshing. Thanks for being you.

My birthday was a few months ago. I had only a small family dinner. I invited my best female friend to it, and she happily came. Even brought her mother and daughter. It was fine.
Her birthday was last week. Haven’t talked to her all week at all. Then I find out she had a huge fucking party with even a rented party bus and she never so much as mentioned that this was happening and from what I can tell invited pretty much everyone but me. Before I found out I texted her to tell her happy birthdayand deliver the Amazon egift card I bought her. Ignored entirely. On it’s own that wouldn’t have been a big deal because she’s 40 now and didn’t text very much and probably was slightly bombarded with them that day. But together it stings. The fact that she was important enough to me to come to a family dinner but I’m not important enough for a fucking party bus is beyond hurtful. I don’t know what the explanation is for that, maybe it was an all girls type thing that she never thought I would find out about, (which I would accept), but until I get one I get one I’m going to treat her like she doesn’t exist since I apparently stopped existing about a month ago. I’m not planning on asking about it, because if there is an innocent explanation me having asked about it would just needlessly get me in"trouble". So I’ll just see if she brings it up next time I see her.
Bit of background, we’ve been friends for several years so it’s not as if we were just having a fling that just sortof fizzled out.
Handman is one of my favorites on this forum.

I fucking hate comcast. My email is down and they don’t seem to be able to do anything about it. I’ve been having all sorts of problems ever since they updated it about month or so again. Fuck them.
