Idea: Rocky IV - Bill Conti version?

Dunno if it’s possible. I saw clips that a few people put up on YT that used various snips of Rocky 1-3 OST material, plus the opening of Rocky 5 is basically the Rocky 4 fight set to a shortened version of “Conquest” (Rocky 2 and 3 battle music).

This is my idea:

1. Replace the opening titles with ones more like Rocky 5’s, or possibly a 3/5 hybrid form (the Rocky 5 variant is transparent instead of yellow)

2. Replace the Apollo/Rocky sparring from Rocky 3 with the Rocky 3 version (different music), redraw the credits

3. Replace all the Vince DiCola BGM with Bill Conti BGM; replace “Hearts On Fire” with some other song (since Vince DiCola cowrote it), possibly Gonna Fly Now

4. Might need to redo the ending credits

This is a little ambitious, though not Adywan ambitious. Dunno how feasible it is either, I’ll have to look into it further. My source has 5.1 audio, it might be able to be hacked.

The music from Rocky IV always disturbed my watching experience of the movie.
I also thought about such an edit as you proposed, but it's very difficult to remove the original background music of a movie and replace it with another one without making it sound weird, because you have to keep the dialogue and even in the center channel of a 5.1 sound there is music.

But a you should have a try. It would be great if you could accomplish something!
And there are far too few Rocky edits out there, so something has to be done^^

When I watched Rocky IV recently, I kept thinking how it could be improved with a fan edit.

I missed the "getting stronger" music from I-III during the training sequences (sorry, I've don't know offhand what the actual title of the music is).
James Brown could do with shortening a bit.
And the extra from Short Circuit has to be removed completely!

And I think you're referring either to "Gonna Fly Now", or possibly "Going The Distance". (GtD wasn't in Rocky 3 I don't think. A motif from it is in "War" on Rocky 4 OST - the "ding! ding! ding!" from the end)
