Idea: Can we make Multi-Lingual OT DVDs?

Hey all!

Sorry if I barge in and pick up on a thread which might be going as it is!

While at it why don’t either of you compilers go for a multi-lingual version of the Original Trilogy.
All you need is a fair Audio track off a foreign VHS, as far as I’m concerned.
I’ve always wanted to hear Darth Vader in German, for instance! Why not in French?
If we all look really close then we might even be able to get a Japanese release!

Oh well…Its just an Idea!

As a start here's an old article from the OS about the languages the AotC logo was translated into:

Although this page is just the logo, the audio most likely was dubbed too.
Here's a possible list:
Spanish, Russian, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese?), Korean, Japanese, Finish, French, Arabic?, Indian Swahili?, German, Greek, Turkish, Italian, Portuguese, Thai...

Just a collection of the opening crawls in different languages would be neeeto...
another collection possibility is all the language subtitles.

Please post places to buy foreign language versions of english films, if you know of any.

Don't forget on some of the DVDs there is an "English for the Hearing Imparied" audio track! (was this suppost to be Visually Impaired?)

I have the French laserdiscs so it wouldn't be too difficult to add French subtitles (for the aliens and opening scrawl) and a French audio track to my DVD. Maybe for a later release.

I had to sync the English audio from my VHS capture to the video from the laserdisc, and believe me it's not that easy (although you don't have to worry about lip-sync being spot-on if it's a foreign soundtrack!)
