However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Well, that's odd. There doesn't seem to be a SCENES folder in my CD, but I can still watch them! Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

EDIT: Got it again. For reasons unknown, I had to use the Episode I Insider extractor to get the second disc's contents.

OCP did get better quality captures of the cut scenes just after he released Deleted Magic. I wouldn't be able to campare the DVD-ROM files of DM and ROTE until I got home tonight.

For the record, I asked him several months back which captures were better and he responded that the ones on ROTE were supposed to be much better quality (plus, there are no hard-encoded subtitles on them). He claimed at the time that they were the best available transfers of the video clips. Better/best is always a matter of opinion, though, and these were just his claims.

In any event, this new way of capturing the video looks hands down tons better than whatever method (screen recording?) was used before. Good luck to everyone using this.

Hey, guess what? I have ANOTHER problem! Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to solve this five seconds after I post. I've got all four deleted scenes on my hard drive, but I can't seem to get the converter on that guy's program to work. Every time I press something, the player closes! Also, the alternate cantina video looks like scrambled porn. I promise this is the last question. Any ideas?

I'm finishing making my Lost Scenes DVD set. There is a PAL and NTSC version. Both are anamorphic and progressive. They look pretty good (relatively, of course). I've used dolby digital 1.0 for the audio at 448kbps, so on a 5.1 system the center channel is used and both speakers are used on a 2.0 system...

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.

Really looking forward to this!

After talking with MoveAlong I can confirm that these rips will be appearing in my as yet untitled 'Star Wars' project.

Thanks for all your hardwork Laserman & MoveAlong. You are doing another great service for our community.

Likewise - I didn't even know you were working on this. Did you check out Rikter's "The Forgotten Scenes" when making yours?

let's say your filename of the video was ANCHOR3.ZNM (which is one of them), you would copy that video into the folder that contains the grisc program and then you would open a command prompt.
You should get a nice black screen where you can type:

grisc ANCHOR3.ZNM

and that is all there is to it.

Well, after messing around with my folders and everything, I finally GOT THEM! Well, almost, anyway. I've got the video saved as an AVI, but, for some strange reason, there's no audio! Now what? Perhaps the good Lord doesn't want me to get these.

I don't know about the good Lord, but I'm sure Goodlord doesn't want you to have them. At least that's what I call Lucas, now. Ya see, every time he does something, lately, I say "Oh goodlord!", and well, the name kinda stuck.

Some people on that LucasForums had the same trouble. That guy's extractor utility might've had a bug.

If it would help, I could give you links for a Rapidshare download of Laserman's extraction. It'd be the whole thing though, 7 rar files containing his original rar files. PM me if you think it'd help. His files are the .ZIM.

One day I found... 10 years had got behind me. Next day was worse.

Download  shows from Cable DVR (Updated! Yes, it needs a rewrite, but it's worth slogging through, anyway).

The grisc utility creates an image sequence and a .wav file, experiment a little and have a look in your folders. It is a good idea to play with this stuff for while *before* posting, the answer is often right there in front of you with a bit of looking around.

You can assemble them in virtualdub or similar.

L, could you PM me your rapidshare link?

Hey, MeBe!

Great to see you back!

I suspect it's my Rapidshare link that you want.

PM sent.

Shouldn't that be ytrewq? Or do you have backwards keyboards in Australia?

While we're talking about the lost scenes, T-Bone's site is great. I never knew that the landspeeder ride into Anchorhead and the Old Woman of Anchorhead were actually filmed.

It is the Dvorak joke mebejedi asked for - you will need to translate it...
I just took my keyboard out of Dvorak mode and typed away (yeah I'm one of those nerds that uses the Dvorak layout)

Look at a Dvorak layout against your keyboard and you will be able to read it.

When I try to run Grisc, it tells me zlib1.dll is required. When I place this dll in the same folder as grisc.exe, Grisc opens and then crashes. What am I doing wrong?
