blu-ray has the original 1982 theatrical cut with another 7.1 upmix :(

Well good then the audio will be good a couple of ways, so if the theatrical is on BD why the interest in this 1080i file then? this is getting confusing.

i have no interest in the 2002 version. the op has ;)
i only have interest in the ld audio.

I don't have the 2002 version. I never found it. :(

I did, however, make a bonus disc for the set that included a new recording of the documentary. ;)

Does the 2002 start with the new revolving Universal logo?

There are many pre-BD HDTVrips of this floating around Usenet and RuTracker.

Should I start downloading them to check them out?

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

All the HDTV broadcasts have been the theatrical cut.

I once found an HDTV rip which for some reason had the 5.1 audio track from the DVD.

Unfortunately it didn't sync...

Just read in Home Cinema Choice (In a feature on botched blu's) that E.T. on blu has the S/E soundtrack??? can anyone confirm?

Incorrect. As DVDmike pointed out, there are multiple torrents of 720p versions.

I stand corrected.

Now we wait to see if there's a large filesize of a 1080i broadcast of the 2002 version. Again for BD25, not a BD5 or BD9 which is AVCHD.

If there is I can't find it

Look through the ones you downloaded and torrented to see which ones have the best film grain retainment. Nothing which looks DNR'd. Larger filesizes with film grain kept would be best.

It's one of the main reasons why I loathe YIFY. Too compressed and low file sizes.

The file I have is big, but is it the wanted version?
