I type a lot. Keeps my fingers thin.
This is a little place to talk about how you work to stay in shape, or at least healthy.
Over the past year I've become quite addicted to exercise. Too many people in this country seem to think if they eat a salad, they are going to magically lose weight. I was one of those people, and I was fat for half of my life. When I turned 20, I decided that was going to be my last fat year. I've dropped a lot of weight. I've gone down 3 pant sizes. Went from an XL to a M, and I've gotten some good comments from my doctor, something I've never gotten before.
I still have more to lose, but at least now I have the confidence in my abilities to make it.
What do you do to stay healthy? How much do you run a day? What do you eat? Say anything, hell even talk about how you want to get healthy.
I just figured it would be neat to share advice to make for an easier road.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I try to lift weights (no muscle), but usually I just end up pretending to walk on the treadmills as I watch TV in the gym.
I lift weights. Could use some cardio, I'm just too lazy to make myself do it.
I usually go for a good jog, but the cold weather has made that impossible. Right now I do more lifting than usual, I've kind of got addicted to it. Something about giving the muscles a good burn that completes my day.
I need some equipment. After school's over I need to join a gym. At least to use a treadmill, as I don't have one.
I really wish I had a place to swim, but there aren't many places where I'm at. Most places want a year membership, which is a waste of money as little time as I have to swim. Swimming is the absolute greatest workout known to man.

I'm not keeping very fit at the moment. I did go for walks with my dogs back when the weather was warmer, but I stopped after the fall chill set in. I do have an exercise bike, but the thing is an uncomfortable pain in the ass so I don't use it much anymore.
I shag my girlfriend every morning....Keeps me fit!!!
I wrestle around with my kids (3 and 5) and play Wii Fit with them. That's about it. I have been a little depressed the last couple months when the kids are around (I only have them 50% of the time) so I don't eat much. I think the not eating is probably the biggest reason for my recent weight loss. That and the fact that I haven't smoked weed as much this semester which is the biggest cause for my late night snacking.
I'm not depressed all the time, it's just a recent rough patch and I know I'll be fine in the future.

I eat meat to keep my eyesight...
Before you think I'm joking, I'm not. Basically three times by accident I managed to just eat/drink non-meat products for a few days. Orange juice, yoghurt, pasta without meatballs, stuff like that. The first time I didn't know what was happening or why my eyesight was leaving my right eye. I forget at the moment how I went from recognizing I'm going blind to eating some turkey. Either way it worked, and I got my eyesight back. Happened again years later and I remembered my previous experience. I struggled with my eyesight enough to cook some leftover chicken from the fridge. It worked and I wasn't very hungry at the second time considering I already ate 20 minutes before. So it was tremendously difficult for me to try to eat more. I always just eat until I'm full. Anyway by the third time I knew what to do and ate some beef. I don't know why my body is like this but it is. I need meat to continue my ability to see. My body's weird like that.
That is weird. I'd be curious to know what vitamins or minerals you're missing that that is happening.

I've read about protein being beneficial to the eyes. There is protein in the eyes, so I guess there are some factors.
Meat isn't bad, just don't neglect your grains, fruits, and veggies. I would also recommend a good multivitamin.

A morning shag starts the day off very nicely...
Now, obviously I like to get jiggy in the evening, but there's nothing better than a bit of morning rumpy pumpy
I think this discussion belongs in the abortion thread.
I started to get a bit of a gut recently so decided to take up running.
Not doing too bad. At the moment I can run for about 45mins before keeling over !

For physical activity to have any health benefits, you need to be doing at least 30 minutes a day.
So I'm afraid your 30 seconds a day doesn't count.

You been talking to the missus again?
Every hour I try to take a break and get my blood moving for about 2 minutes when I'm on the computer. I learned this from mark joyner.
That way I don't have to do it all in one lump sum.

I used to take hour long walks in the evenings until winter rolled around. Now I need a new alternative.

QFT.
I currently do P90 every single morning, well I've been slacking for the past two weeks, but I've still been trying to keep up with the workouts. It's something I think everyone should try, becasue the workout is just so good. I could only imagine how tough P90x would be. Can't wait to find out. :)

The shape I'm in, I could donate my body to science fiction.
My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

That's my problem. Most of my exercise involved either walking, jogging, or landscaping. Winter has halted all of that.

two words: Snow shoes. If you live near woods that you hike through in the summer, get some snow shoes and have at it. Dress light because you will sweat like crazy. The problem is that they are not cheap, so you may want to rent them before you decide whether you like it.
I somehow find myself being more active in the winter. Last week I walked out on the lake to go fishing (ice is not thick enough to drive on) and my legs still hurt. It was literally a 25 min walk because it was warm that day and it was glare ice.
I live by between two college campuses and I see just as many joggers in the winter when the sidewalk is dry, or the snow is crunchy enough to run on without slipping. And shoveling instead of snow blowing is always a work out.
