SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

Sadly, I’m actually not sure if I had any ancestors fighting in the Mexican War or the Spanish-American War, although I doubt any fought in the latter. I do know for a fact though that I had no close relatives fighting in Korea. My grandparents were in WWII and my parents and uncles were too young to have fought in Korea. They fought in Vietnam though. I also have reason to believe that an ancestor fought in the War of 1812, which I believe I mistakenly left out of my list.

Today is the centennial anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, which went on for four months and resulted in a ten-mile advance for the British and French armies.

Here’s a short video about it.

Fifty-seven thousand British casualties in one day, a third of them deaths.

Numerous individuals have a tendency to overlook the warriors on this day, being it a 3-day weekend for most. The bbq illuminate, families visit shorelines, and the shopping deals. Without these warriors battling and passing on for our opportunity will won’t not be alive to do any of this stuff. Cheerful Memorial Day everybody. http://www.chiefpapers.com/do-my-extensive-essay

The craziness of the ‘great war’ is it killed millions, leading to the Spanish Flu epidemic which killed millions, leading to second world war, which killed millions and the cold war that killed millions. We are essentially in perpetual war. All because of a small bunch of idiotic rich people playing real life D&D. Wouldn’t it just be simpler to plough our elites into the soil every few years and take all those millions of loved and missed lives to the stars where they belong? I declare a war on wars. If anyone comes to you trying to sell one that isn’t fictional tell them to bury themselves instead. It’s good for the soil and saves lots of grief.

Maybe war is necessary for us.

If you want to argue about war, do it in another thread.

Warb each year you start another thread on this subject but the truth remains. While wars happen people will unnecessarily die. Not necessarily to defend freedom but because someone else orders it. That’s not heroic. It’s tragic. It should stop and if you want to build a shrine to the victims of war build it geographically or on a website without comment. This is a discussion forum and you can’t discuss the memory of the victims of war without discussing the morality or lack of morality of war.

Remembrance of war doesn’t ever make me happy. It makes me angry and sad and depressed.

I am not telling you not to discuss the moralities of war, I am asking you not do it here. Do it in the politics section or create your own thread. If you don’t like that I create in these threads each year to remember our brave soldiers, TOO DAMN BAD!

Everyone please look at the bottom of the first post in this thread and please remember we have an unwritten rule here that we follow the rules set forth in the first post of each thread.

Read it more carefully. You’ll find that I created it on Memorial Day and then someone decided to bump it up today.

Did you make a 2015 thread?

Just wanted to know.

Also: A lot of the times your first sentence in a paragraph will not be capitalized, but all sentences after that are capitalized. Why is this?

I thought it was just your style.

Humans are so predictable. I’m sure if you looked back through each of our post history, you would find a lot of similarities in sentence structure, opinions, styles, etc… If you give somebody the same input, they will inevitably produce the same output. Sometimes this can happen across multiple people: Give a couple of people the same input, and they will produce the same output. I’ve seen that before too.

I’m rambling.

Did you make one in 2013?

Don’t do drugs, unless you’re with me.

I am sure I posted in one in 2013, but someone else may have created the thread.
