They all speak english though, so I have to assume that they were originally from either the U.S. or U.K.

Wasn’t there some EU story that explained the origins of humans in the SW universe? Like they were astronauts from Earth or something caught in a wormhole that threw them through space and time until they were stuck in the sw Galaxy. Then of course reproduced and spread.

I vividly remember seeing something like that. Maybe it was like bad fan fiction or something.

Anakin’s podracer flag at Maz’s castle has apparently been removed from the DVD/Blu-ray release.

Any thoughts?

The trailer not representing the theatrical version maybe?

Not sure if confirmed but it was brought up in the TFA fanedit thread and…

The Rolling Stone quote where JJ says to take that crap out makes me believe it was a trailer-only thing.

Yeah, I was too lazy to search for that.

You’re thinking of Alien Exodus.

Long story short, it was never published and none of its elements were ever canonized within the old EU.

Let’s be specific here, a shot in the trailer is different from the final theatrical release. It’s no more a big deal than Luke’s blue Lightsaber in early ROTJ trailers.

Or on the poster for that matter!

Well, sure, but I was under the impression that it was in the theatrical release. That’s going to be somewhat hard to confirm though.

That other thread Frink linked to has a link to reddit where’s a link to a post on reddit that has a pic from a camrip.

What were the flags in the theatrical release like? Like the BR, or like the trailer? I can’t remember. I honestly wasn’t looking any of the many times I watched TFA at the cinema. I was too wrapped up in what Han was saying and looking at that cool puppet robot.

I’m getting some cognitive dissonance right now. Do I hate “special edition” changes, or prequel references more? LOL

I don’t see anything on that pic, but people say it’s the same as the Bluray.

The only way to be sure would be to look at a cam bootleg.
I don’t and won’t have one but there must be still galleries from back before the digital release. I saw plenty of stills from cam captures used in Youtube videos.
Maybe one of them is of Maz’s castle flags???

Just came across this quotation from Claudia Gray about her new Leia-centric book Bloodline and couldn’t help but smile.

[Claudia Gray said:]
“[In interviews] she sort of laughs at her younger self for being so influenced by Peter Cushing,” noted the author. “But I thought: I’m gonna use that. So there’s an explanation in the book that she’s actually making fun of Tarkin. She’s mocking his accent in that moment. She remembers that’s what she was doing. So that moment has been explained. It’s no longer a problem.”

That’s been my headcanon for years. Nice to see it made official.

Someone on Reddit did that I believe, and it was confirmed to be a shot exclusive to the trailer.

Interesting trivia, not sure if anyone knew this already: I’m sure you saw the creature that looks like Nien Nunb in The Force Awakens as an X-Wing pilot.

According to Fantasy Flight’s X-wing miniatures game, that was actually Nien Nunb.

I noticed that in the theatres. It was neat to see him in the background.

I seem to remember it coming up in the documentary as well.

Nien Nunb was all over that “Journey to The Force Awakens” book/comic push in the lead-up to the movie, so I just assumed that’s who he was.

I don’t believe you! It’s another trick!
