Goatees lead to handlebars, handlebars lead to neckbeards, neckbeards lead to mutton chops.

Actually, I've heard that neckbeards can also lead to anti-Semitism and an obsession with composing "total works of art".

But what do I know? I'm just another man of flesh.

This actually looks much more like what I'd imagined Anikin would look like before the PT!

Nah, it's all about young Sebastian Shaw.

Nice!

Lovely fanart.

I can't help but nitpick, however--IIRC young Shaw actually had dark hair. Which seems to have been how GL envisioned prequel-era Anakin around the time of ROTJ.

Wait, he hates Star Wars so much he destroyed all of his collection? I know he's done con appearances in the past.

I remember there was an interview with him a while back (maybe it's on youtube or something, I can't be sure) where he revealed that he was bullied a great deal at school for all the star wars stuff. That and the fact that irate fans would come up to him as he was growing up and insult him for simply being in the prequels, blaming him for a lot of stuff that he had no involvement in. If I were him, having most memories of star wars associated with some sort of abuse, I would probably feel pretty bitter about the whole thing too.

Then again, I am half remembering all of this so take what I say with a grain of salt. I'm probably remembering most of this wrong.

If what TMZ is saying about him struggling with schizophrenia is true, then this isn't funny anymore.

Agreed.

Plus, I don't think he did a bad job in TPM. Not Hayden level bad, at least.

"I don't like...global destruction."

I had to get a Darths and Droids joke somewhere. Well, that and the "goatees are evil" thing. Qui-Gon does NOT have a goatee, thank you very much.

At worst, Jake was annoying. Hayden, on the other hand, played a straightforward asshole.

It sucks. Though on the subject of his relation to Star Wars, from my discussions with Jake, he seems mixed on Star Wars. Like I don't think he has any inherent hatred of Star Wars. He absolutely is in love with Knight of the Old Republic, and holds a great respect for Lucas. I think it's more the prequel hate and the interviews that get weird and negative he's sick of. Star Wars itself though, I don't think dislikes. He even seems quite fond of it and the community, if you get what I'm saying. He really, really hates that interview everyone always links to though. Hopefully he gets his stuff taken care of. Luckily he's got some awesome friends and family to help him through it. But honestly, if he ends up doing cons again, go chat him up. I helped him out when he was signing at Wizard World Indianapolis, and he was lovely to everyone, and definitely overheard some cool discussions about gaming and filmmaking.

I saw Jake a few years back at a Con here in the U.K.

He was really friendly and seemed to be enjoying himself a great deal.

We all probably know someone in our personal lives who suffer from schizophrenia. And I personally have been to jail. Yet here I am, posting on this forum.

No biggie. But possibly a biggie. Toss of a coin. Thus is the coldness of the universe.

Best wishes to Jake.

 Is this a personal attack?

There's nothin' wrong with goatees, handlebars or chops.
Neckbeards on the other hand... yeah, clean that up.

I shave only mustache regularly and my "beard" proper approximately once per month.

Does this mean I have a neckbeard?

Naw, you go right ahead and rock that dark side.  It is more seductive after all.  Er, so I've heard. *cough*

Do you shave the hair off of your neck? If not, then, yes, you have a neckbeard. And it looks bad.

As I said: only approximately once per month or sometimes once every two weeks. I shave my mustache every other day, but this doesn't include my face; that is, the hair coming down from my sideburns which joins up with the hair on my anterior neck.

JEDIT: Which part of the neck are you referring to here? I'm referring to the portion immediately under my chin and jawline which stretches down to my Adam's Apple.

I don't give a shit if it looks bad or not. It gets my wife going, lets me be lazy*, and kinda helps me fit in with the other Software Engineers at my shop.

(* I have extremely coarse hair and very thin/sensitive skin, so shaving even with 64-blade WePromiseWeWon'tCutYou™ razors fucking sucks.)

Yes, sorry!

Has anyone here ever played the Japanese NAMCO Star Wars game for the Famicom (a.k.a., NES in the US) that was released in 1987?

Don't confuse this with the JVC Star Wars NES game released in 1991.

I hear good things about it.

I have, and at one point made a video walkthrough before I deleted it. That game was hard on easy mode. Only a few lives, with seemingly no way to add to them. No passwords. No continues. Several Vader clones that transform into monsters (quoth the AVGN, "I am your father, and I am also a ****ing scorpion") The only way I was able to beat the game was savestates, and even then I died a couple times.

One thing to note is that the famicom and nes empire strikes back games are the same, the only real difference being the ladder has japanese text.

I'd love to see an anime (or even better, toku) adaption of the famicom star wars game.

Star Wars is again reduced to mindless action sequences. "It wouldn't be Star Wars without epic space battles." So where is the epic space battle of Empire?

I'd even say the first "epic" space battle was the one in Jedi, since that's the first one with capital ships on both sides. The dogfights around the first Death Star are intense, but for me they don't qualify as "epic".
