^^Yes. Best of all, I was there. I just didn't see that guy.
I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.
Straight out of Ralph McQuarrie's paintings! I knew some helmet replicas had been made, but it's the first time I've seen a complete concept costume. :)

So you haven't been following Rebels then I take it?
In other news, this was posted on Facebook today:
^Count Dooku has reprogrammed himself to be much younger and broken his nose and it's nice to see the Probot getting on with Chewie, Threepio and R5?
I like to see the symmetrical Vader queens faces when they see that Dark Lord.
Leia is missing a few digits and aged a bit too quickly and Luke is wearing...well it's hard to tell...is he one of the Osmonds because that looks very 70's Vegas?

It's uncanny -- I've actually got Sith who weild iridescent crystalline swords in my personal canon.
You missed Threepio's replacement Tin Man head.
I think ESB would have been even more interesting if Lando had stayed a vampire. =P

Don't know if this has been posted before, but it made me laugh.
I was about to ask what this meant until I figured out the t-shirt. I still don't get the question mark box, however.
I read an interview with him once where he said he bought a box of magic tricks but never opened it. Could be that. Can't see why that would figure into a Star Wars -Star Trek cartoon though. He's known for so much more.
*Edit*
Found this article about it. Looks like he says movies are mystery boxes. I assume it's that and not that actual magic box he never opened. Still seems a bit of a stretch to put it in the cartoon. The Bad Robot shirt works better.

That poster is very retro, and reminds me of this as well...

"LOOOONE STAAR!"
Gotta love those old "They only let me see the trailer once so I had to paint it from memory" posters.
VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

That's awesome! I hope somebody makes a fan film with those suits. :)

No, the mystery box is his whole shtick. It's his belief that mystery itself is what's important. So he's made it a habit in most of his productions to introduce mysterious elements in them and then never resolving them. Most of the time because there never really was an answer. They're mysteries for mystery's sake and I've always found that incredibly lame.
Well, we never got a non EU answer for that cave that really wasn't a cave on Dagobah, so J.J. will fit right in. ;)

Are you referring to that artificial-looking archway inside the cave? I don't think the EU's actually addressed that. Wookieepedia's article on the cave doesn't even bring it up.

It's a fascinating choice, recasting Han, Luke and Leia.

The EU still gave us more than the prequels did. There were fan theories for years about what happened in there to make it saturated in the Dark Side, and an expectation we would see it in the the PT. Yoda initially referred to it as a place, not a cave.
I wonder if there are blueprints for that set somewhere that could give clues?

My brother always thought that the artificial walls of the cave were meant to foreshadow the slanted walls of the passage where Luke and Vader fought later in the film. I agree that this is probably the extent of the thought that went into it, but in some of my prequel outlines the passageway opens up into a giant Sith catacomb. I would be disappointed if they ever explained that cave, much better for it to remain open to interpretation.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

I'm still mad that from what I understand the Episode VII script has been tweaked as to focus more on the original cast than intended. Part of me wonders why I care at all, but ... still. I want new faces.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
The Episode VII thread is that a way. ;)

Hey, random thoughts. Plus, it's old news -- why beat a dead horse on the day filming is finally announced?

I like to think that the cave is part of a ruin belonging to some long extinct Dagobahan civilization, myself.

I don't get why this thread is so hard to understand. I'll repeat the relevant part of the first post.

See title...post random star wars thoughts here, ones that maybe don't have the legs for their own threads.
So anything that can go in an existing thread definitely doesn't belong.

It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces.
I never fail to faceplam everytime a TFNer criticizes the Marvel SW comics for being "silly" while also praising the PT for being some immaculate work of genius filmmaking.
