If the audio includes the fox fanfare and the start of the title them, then it's the restored version.
Oh, there is no fox fanfare at the start. So this track wouldn't match.

This project has given me the needed kick in the pants to finally try installing AviSynth on my Linux laptop under WINE, and I gotta say I'm likin' AviSynth already! Very cool.
Haven't tackled the encoding yet, but I can open the 3.09 AVS file in VirtualDubMod and step through frame by frame, albeit slowly.
Thanks again to dark_jedi for collecting the required filters in one place; however, I did have to download FFT3DFilter separately.
http://avisynth.org.ru/fft3dfilter/fft3dfilter211.zip
Was that line added to the script after dark_jedi uploaded the RAR? Or is it something peculiar with my WINE/Linux installation?
However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

or I could have accidentally forgot to add it.
but glad you got it working.
I'm a complete noob when it comes to this.
How do you rip the GOUT-
I mean what program do you use, what files do you need and what directory should you put them in. Should I just copy the files from the DVD?

K, I got the point where I actually have to run the script. I tried a 20 minute clip and the playhead on wmp got all the way to the end no problems but nothing happened. what do I do now?
MODERATOR : COULD THIS THREAD BE MOVED TO TECHNICAL AND HELP SECTION, please..
thanks.
ok, so you ran the script, and it worked.
get an encoder:

as mentioned here earlier : http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/GOUT-image-stabilization/post/333399/#post333399
and here:

run it through that, and save it..

I posted a short encoding guide here.
I hope the great work from g-force now makes a watchable GOUT available for everybody with this guide.
well, i've added a couple of notes to the encoding guide you put up, oldschooljedi..
again, i think this thread should also be moved to the technical help
area, so it's easier to find..
===================================================
well, after reinstalling all the software, and plugings, i'm giving the new
script from gforce a try..
the major problem i had, was none of the plugin filters were getting loaded,
so i had to manually add lines into the script to get it to work..
not sure why it happened ????, it worked fine before....
other than that, it's going to take awhile, and then i can report on how
it did, compared to the 2.x versions of the script..

ok,
i've finished encoded one of the VOBs for the new GOUT 3 version..
and i'm comparing it to the 2.x versions..
it does have a lot of improvements, and the encoding seemed quicker
(i'm not sure by exactly how much)..
i'll try to finish the rest of the film..
thanks for all your hard work on this g-force!

Impressive stuff G-Force! I think the force is strong with this one :o)
If television is chewing gum for the mind, then the prequels are the worlds first visual laxative.
here's some images from v3.09
(for the first .VOB)

What I'm interested in here is comparison clips, now that I know what it looks like.

what would you like compared????
original vs 3.09 vs 2.03???
3.09 differentials vs original?
image stabilization differentials?
i've put up a whole bunch already in thread..
which one are you referring too???
by the way, i'm using the NTSC version..

Oh, I was referring to GOUT. I'm not sure how those look on teh official non-scripted version.

G-force,
I finished the encoding of ANH with your actually script yesterday. I watched a few chapters and I'm very happy with it. This is a littlebit like christmas in october!!!
Thank you for your hard work on this!
Hey guys, just wondering. Would this script work on other projects as well, like, say EditDroid?

i doubt it, since it was tweaked specifically to work with the officially released GOUT
version..
you could always take the script and alter it, and try it with a short segment for a test..

I was also wondering if it would work for GOUT ESB and ROTJ?
They seem to all have their own set of problems, though.
I'm sure the actual script 3.09 makes a good job with ESB and ROTJ too, because the quality of the unprocessed videos is a littlebit superior compared to the unprocessed ANH.
I encoded all three movies earlier this year with the script that was actual at this time and the result was really, really good, although I did not alter the script for every movie.
ROTJ looked the best with the script then.

can you post some screenshots of ESB, and ROTJ?
would be interested in seeing some comparisons......but have you tried it with the new script
3.09 though?

I'm just encoding ESB with script 3.09.
Be patient, I will post some screenshots in the next days.
The older encodings I've done are not competitive compared to the encodings with the actual script so screenshots could be confusing...
