According to my World Cup Excel spreadsheet, if both England and USA get though to the knockout stage, they would not face each other again until the final.

That's assuming that, in the semis, they beat Italy and we beat Brazil.

Two thoughts:

1) You have a World Cup spreadsheet?  What's on it?
2) I didn't know you play for England.

1) Yes, the old "wall charts" became electronic ever since MS Excel was invented. They're all over the internet; try here for example.

2) Don't be silly. ;-)

well, Mike and Mike, I'm not going have to get over anything.    If they don't stop the horns,  I'm not going to watch the World Cup(unless the USA gets to the final game).     I also probably won't  be watching or listening to Mike and Mike.  They seem very obnoxious.    The World Cup may be happening in South Africa, but that doesn't mean it belongs to them. Do the Olympics belong to whichever country is hosting them?  America isn't the only country complaining about the horns.    Comparing those horns to tail gating is stupid.   Tail gating can't remotely be seen as annoying as those horns are.  Also they aren't just annoying to the people that are going to the game, they are annoying to TV viewers and to the players themselves.   These horns could potentially effect the outcome of games, has tail gating ever done that?

I guess I'm just a serious kind of person.

The vuvuzelas are seriously annoying.  They almost make the idiots at golf tournaments who yell "get in the hole" tolerable by comparison.  Almost.

Oh my god, I just thought of the best product ever.  Vuvuzelas that shout "get in the goal!"  I'll make millions!

good pic.  Think it describes the problem exactly.

Castrol World Cup Predictor

Initially predicted a Brazil/Spain final, it was updated after the first round of group matches and now predicts a Brazil/Argentina final.

Fantastic. The memories of the 2006 Zidane animated GIF meme all came flooding back...

Ooh, I'll have to look that up.  I had never heard of a meme in 2006.

Quite a few of them feature in the video here.

So Germany are down to 10 men, a goal down and have just had a penalty saved. Wish I was at hope watching this game on TV instead of at work watching the text BBC's text commentary on the net.

Anyway, are you yanks ready to do England a favour and not lose to Slovenia this afternoon?
