Ewoks with blasters — Page 2

I tried the cannon video, but it was complicated. Too much new stuff to insert into the movie.
So I went for the catapult, that’s something they could hide easily.

It works reasonably well I think (only needs a few frames of extra effects for the walker destruction)…

So I think the battle works with just the blasters and the catapults.

You might be able to use a quick shot of the Scout Walker pilots reacting as if they notice the grenade coming towards them before you show the Walker blowing up? All you need is the head turn.

Maybe matte the incoming grenade into the pov shot? Probably flip the shot as well…

Good suggestion!
I guess with some very good sound editing the pilots could hear the catapult firing and the grenade falling.
That way no need for matting or extra shots.

Perhaps if I use the classical bomb falling whistle and have the pilots react to that?

There’s probably a Star Wars equivalent of that sound somewhere.

Both films were entirely shot in Northern California, so I don’t see how Jabba’s palace could have been reused, as that set was at Elstree in England. (And probably torn down when ROTJ wrapped production in 1982.) There’s also nothing remotely like Jabba’s palace in Caravan of Courage.

ah, i know their is some “castle interior” that i thought resembled jabbas palace

The Ewoks storming Jaba’s palace would be fun 😉

You could also potentially Smuggle Wicket on the Death Star also with the Bobba Fett Scene can’t remember the name of the Program day in the life of an Ewok or something?!?

But I think what you have done there is really good!

Hold on a minute… If you Put Wicket being shot at During the Bunker Shootout Deleted Scene from ROTJ it may very well be the impetus to go and get the Guns…😃

Bunker Scene…

Could be pretty Tough But it might be possible to show Wicket Being Shot At and then as If Han Is Saving him… Or Wicket was sent forward as a diversion.

That corridor sequence might indeed be used to introduce the cannons…
But the less we see of the Ewoks the better I think 😉

The rebel troops are a mystery. You see some guys at the bunker, but are there more?
And once the shield is down, certainly they receive reinforcements.

The Ewoks got the weapons from the rebels perhaps.
Don’t think you need any explanation other than “we are now part of the tribe”.
They team up.

The issue is some of the weapons the Ewoks use in BFE are clearly really old and being held together with bits of cloth. They don’t look like any rebel weapons.

We could add armed Ewok guards the the Ewok village establishing shots. That would be a simple visual explanation.
They have weapons and use them as a last resort.
