Oh my. I would like to see a sequel set only 15 years after AOD. If bruce campbell got in shape he isnt old nor does he look old he is just hefty of course the big 35-40 jump is kinda hard on everybody. You either get chubby or wrinkly. But he is only 50. He has some good years ahead of him. If harrison ford can play INDY at 65 Bruce Campbell can be ASH at 50.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

On the first page I explained how I think continuing from either film could be interesting, but I think continuing from the directors cut would be ideal. I really like the idea of this jerk not being able to catch a break. First he and his friends travel out to this cabin for some fun and sex, and next thing he knows they are all possessed by demons and trying to kill him, after surviving this hell, as if that wasn't enough, he ends up going way back in time and continuing to fight the evil dead. Finally, after setting aside his ass like tenancies for five minutes and becoming a hero, he finally gets a way to go home, and manages to screw it all up and sleep too long. I'd love to see the story continue from here, and I have a feeling it will, since this is Raimi and Co.'s preferred ending to the film.

Regarding EyeShotFirst's comments on Campbell's age. I think it is a none issue. He was very young in the first film, quite a lot older in the second, and clearly older still in the third, yet they all take place in what? A two day period? We Evil Dead fans are of such that all we want is more Campbell as Ash, we are more than willing to forgive Ash's rapid aging problem. If it really needed to be explained away, using the director's cut ending would be perfect, since we see that Ash's hair and beard still grew while he slept, it would be fair to assume he might have gradually aged during his long sleep. Like I said, I really don't care. Just give me more Bruce Campbell, more buckets of fake blood, and more crappy stop motion monsters and silly special effects and I have no doubt I'd love the Evil Dead Quadrilogy just as much as I have loved the trilogy all these years.
