All that shot further confirms is that we will continue to see OT/Mcquarrie style designs, specifically that classic lighting design.
I think you guys are really underestimating the production team. There's a good chance it'll be dumb but I think it would come in the form of new ideas. I don't think they'd rehash things that heavily.
Anyway, this next bit of news is sourced from that ever reliable bastion of movie news the Latino Review. ;)
Rumor: Episode VII Script 2nd Draft Description
That all sounds disturbingly plausible.
The Clone Wars established that kind of lighting was used elsewhere.
We also saw very little of Star Destroyer interiors aside from the bridge area and Vader's private chamber.
Where were you in '77?

Why do parts of that remind me of Supershadow's adaptations?
The only thing I really didn't like about that was the idea that Palpatine's ancestor founded the Sith. I'm very interested in possibly seeing a more neutrally aligned Luke.

Article and set pic. . Very happy about both.

More vague hints courtesy of Entertainment Weekly that point to the Inquisitor from Rebels being the villain in Episode VII. Prepare to get your first glimpses at locations, characters, etc. that will appear in the movie in this series.

nice little story from Simon Pegg here.

“In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be “replaced” by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten.” - George Lucas
That's kind of disappointing if they're really going to make sure Episode VII ties into Rebels, especially since Episode VII takes place well over 30 years after Rebels. If the Inquisitors existed during the OT, then where were they this whole time? Why weren't they working with the Empire?
I wonder if any of the stuff near the X wing and between the "hangars" are part of the set? There are satellite dishes, and possibly a couple vaporators?
I thought I saw Star Wars style crates in the flyover video.

WTF is an "Inquisitor"?
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Same place as Thrawn, Mara Jade, and Jerec. If equating not appearing to not existing isn't world shrinkage, I don't know what is.

Nice to see the next generation of the X-wing in finished form. Is the mouse droid a hint of the Empire being in Episode VII?
I'd rather the X-wing and other OT aircraft/spacecraft didn't change in appearance at all. Here in the real world, well-established aircraft designs don't change their outer appearance very often. For how long has the F-16 looked the same? Or the "Huey" helicopter? Or the 737 airliner? Or the Cessna 172?
Frequent changes in appearance is mostly a consumer automobile thing, even though it is entirely unnecessary (the classic VW Beetle is a good example). Military and commercial vehicle/aircraft manufacturers tend to not fix what isn't broken. The Humvee has looked the same for 30 years.
Given that the Star Wars universe technology is far more advanced than real-world technology, they've had a much longer time to perfect things, and it follows that they would have even longer-running military/commercial designs than we have in the real world. The PT was way out in left field in this respect.
On the plus side, if they must change the X-wing's appearance, at least they didn't go overboard with it. In fact, the one in that video clip looks closer to the Ralph McQuarrie concept art than the OT X-wings did.

Well, so far, those characters aren't canon according to Disney and they probably won't be. Inquisitor existing in Rebels and Episode VII would make their existence canon.
Some extras in costume:
Love seeing that Rebel pilot. :-) And is that a black transport?
Rebel blasters haven't changed much I see. :)

Seems like I've seen those outfits somewhere, too... including the ladies.
The tunics are very Naboo, but Star Wars is full of tunics.
"That's it! The Rebels are there."
I am really liking what I see in all these sneak pics - from the underground hangers to the "Harley-Davidson style" X-Wing to the Rebel extras - but I'm also feeling really bad for JJ and the team. It's gotta be annoying to them. It feels like ever since it's been known where they're currently filming, all of a sudden several others are making effort to fly over or on foot to capture ANY thing. I bet many Bothan spies have died already.

That transport thingy looks alot like that thingy from Firefly/Serenity.

I swear I've seen them somewhere else, though...like in one of the Star Wars games from 90s... Dark Forces II, perhaps? Or Mysteries of the Sith?
