It's also not like Sith/Dark Siders haven't had two names before in Star Wars history. He could still be Plagueis.
If they do go that route, they better have the sense to at least refrain from calling him by that name. Identify him as the master of Palpatine if they have to, but don't refer to him as Darth Plagueis, Plagueis, or any variation thereof.

Snoke is a goofy name, but not as goofy as other Star Wars characters that I (and probably you) already love.
Boba Fett... Bib ForTuna... Snoke sounds like Shaft in comparison.Let's not forget the fact that Lucas named an OT character Porkins.
Added to that we have character names such as Sy Snootles, Max Reebo, the third band member was actually called Droopy. Jabba the Hutt is also a pretty funky sounding name. Then we have the official title of Grand Moff. Not to mention a fish-like species called Calamari. I'd say Snoke is quite far down on the list of silliest Star Wars names that we've heard over the years.
Aside from Porkins, none of those names are ever said out loud (well Boba is.....just barely in ROTJ but I never heard it until it was pointed out to me).
I guess there's always the possibility that he'll only ever be referred to by his title. Hell, even Palpatine was never referred to by name until the Prequels came along.
Palpatine was named in the original Star Wars novelization.

What would be the point of Snoke having a secret identity? What would it add to his character?
Sounds like there'll be too many heroes and villains to keep up with. I hope the result will be a clear story we can focus on. The problem with the prequels was the sheer amount of crap going on. I felt like a child lost in the airport watching those movies.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I find it hard to believe that the guy who thought about putting Jar Jar's skull into the new film as an easter-egg would make Plagueis one of the new main characters?
Also from what I've gathered Plagueis' full name is actually Hego Damask. Technically that name never appeared in any of the PT films, but Plagueis appeared in EU content before he was mentioned in ROTS so it's safe to bet that those novels were part of Lucas' marketing of the PT films. Similarly to how Grievious appeared in both novels, comics, and the cartoon show before he actually showed up in the film.

Also please keep in mind that the name "Snoke" did not show up once in that summary based on the established rumours, which confirms my theory that they're taken from an earlier draft. To put that in perspective, if we were discussing rumours about the original Star Wars from an early draft leak we'd be talking about the "Legion of Lettow."

The character certainly appeared ("Uber"), but perhaps the name was never reported, as he's called "Supreme Overlord" throughout the script and "Snoke" is the sort of detail that gets mentioned in photo captions
It does say Snoke now (Uber before) in the summary, but that has to with the fact that the link is to a constantly updated summary based on all the current rumors. So say, a few months from now the summary could be VERY different and far more accurate.

Sorry to make it a prequel comparison, but think of Count Dooku. The entire galaxy knew he was the Separatist leader, enemy of the Republic and Jedi. But behind his public evil face was even deeper darkness: his allegiance to the Dark Side and Palpatine/Sidious as Darth Tyranus.
So Snoke could, publicly, be the leader of the New Order as Supreme Commander, with his "enforcer" Kylo Ren doing his bidding (like how Vader was publicly seen as Palpatine's enforcer). But behind the scenes, he and Kylo have this deeper Dark Side/Sith mystical power agenda with their own Sith names (or, at least, Plagueis).
Or all of that could be true anyway, just minus the Sith names.

And Teams Jetrell Fo 1, Jetrell Fo 2, and Jetrell Fo 3.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Well, David Lynch did almost direct Return of the Jedi.

"Rebel Stormtrooper"? So I guess that it's supposed to be an action figure of Finn then?
