Episode IV: A Ridiculous Hope — Page 20

The green screen is fantastic because I can use the Vegas plug-in to throw pretty much anything I want in there.

Where can I get all six of the Ridiculousness films?

Thanks. It's my first day on this forum, so I'm not too familiar with hunting around these boards yet.

PM already sent, but just to clarify:

The first two edits (The Ridiculous Menace and Attack of the Ridiculousness) are available for download on fanedit.info and can also be streamed on Vimeo.  The third (Revenge of the Ridiculousness) is being worked on right now.  The OT movies have not been started yet.

Also, for anyone who has watched but hasn't done so yet, reviews are really appreciated (good or bad), either here on ot.com or (preferably) on IFDb.

I'm a bit of a tease, both here and in real life.  I'm also overly worried when I really hurt someone's feelings, so if I did, I apologize.  I was just messin'.

In the detention area, Luke could open the wrong cell door. So instead of finding Leia, there is someone else inside, maybe a particularly silly alien from some low-budget science fiction movie. Then Luke just closes the door, maybe he also says "oops" like his father used to when he was young. Repeat this as often as necessary.

This is an idea I approve of whole-heartedly. Don't keep it low-budget, throw everything into it. Alien, Predator, Roger Rabbit...

Would it be feasable to change the line...

"I'm getting too old for this sort of thing"

...to the classic...

"I'm getting too old for this sh*t"

(Bleeped obviously)

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

Ohh, when he finally finds Leia, maybe he should ask her if she's an angel.

Which audio mix of ANH is he using? I would think the 1997 theatrical DTS is the one that hasn't been futzed around with for home video.

I'm sure it's possible to do. I just didn't have any success with it is all. Others may. From the videos I've watched you have to have the sync totally perfect, the volume levels perfect, the pitch perfect etc to get any effect. Clearly I didn't have any of those things right, so I'd give it a go Frink.

I wish somebody here, who is an audio-editing-jedi-master would have a go at this concept. Because a music-free OT would be the fanediting rosetta stone.

FYI: I think I tried with the center channel from the DE, combined with the isolated score from the DE.

I believe this has been attempted for years. It would be perfect for all the fan edits, but it's just not possible.

In this interview around minute 23, Mark Hamill says Han's line "Great kid, now don't get cocky". You could use it to switch the roles of Luke and Han in the scene and make Han the rookie.

Earlier in the interview around minute 18, there's Carry Fisher delivering a funnily awkward version of the "foul stench" line. And just before that, Mark is saying the original "foul stench" line, maybe you could use that when he enters the Falcon or the cantina.

Btw, make Leia recognize everyone by their foul stench.

Hell yes.  She could also recognize people by a variety of different things.

Yeah, do you have interviews where Carrie describes Vader? When she confronts him for the first time, she could say something like: "Darth Vader, I have recognized your helmet."

Or she could tell Han: "I have recognized your walking carpet when I was brought on board."

Language note (if you don't mind):

You wouldn't use "have" in either of those cases; in the second, because there's a specific point in time given (when I was brought on board). I'm not really sure why it isn't right in the first one (perhaps because a specific time of recognition would be implied by the context), but it's awkward there as well.

Be sure to let me know if you'd rather I just keep my mouth shut next time. ;)

When the Falcon enters the remains of the Alderaan system Leia's voice could mysteriously call out, "Asteroids!" and then the asteroids sequence from ESB could start until the caption WRONG FILM flashes over the sequence. The film would then return to the correct position.

In RSB the asteroid sequence from AOTC could start to play in and end in the same way.

The gag could be continued with the shot of the TIE fighter pilot in ROTJ cutting to the Death Star attack from ARH

 I like that.

Not sure I understand your other two ideas.
