I’m mostly liking it, I think showing the assassin prepping builds things up pretty nicely, and it mixes together well, though I also liked an earlier suggestion of showing a few assassins setting up. With the single crosshair view, I guess one assassin makes sense, though it would be funny if you could get like two or three crosshair circles wandering around the screen and settling on him (though it sounds like you had grief enough getting the effect to where it is, so I’m sure this would be asking too much), but the ultimate pay off of this approach would be the additional humor of hearing a few extra and distinct gunshots, to make sure he’s dead. Anyway, I’m pretty pleased with where that is going.
Actually, here’s a different thought… what if after the first gunshot, you put in some Jar-Jar audio clips that might make it sound like he is shot and disoriented and then another shot puts him down (immediately followed by the thud)? Along the lines of * BANG* “… icky goo…” * BANG* * THUD*. Or him screaming hysterically or something. Him being annoying one last time would seem fitting.
Watching this cut, I don’t know why but it kind of feels like something is a bit off with the “weesa free” party transition… What do you guys think? Maybe it is the party music going too long after transitioning back to somber footage.
The angel carving bit is spot on, btw.

I’m sorry, killing him that way just takes me out of the comedy. A blaster shot is more funny.
JEDIT:Showing the assassin before the deed may also be giving away the punchline of Jar Jar’s death.
Maybe, but with the assassin he’s currently going with, I’m liking the subtle story layer it suggests that she’s killing him for the good of us all due to foreknowledge of a terrible future he’s at fault for.
