AI voice has come a long way. It’s very difficult/time-consuming to train still, but sites like 15.ai prove what is possible with a lot of time and effort. Even that site’s best voices - the ponies - still sound robotic, but if you intend to generate masked Kylo dialogue that wouldn’t be a problem. I believe it will be feasible within a few years, as I imagine more consumer friendly tools for this sort of thing are being developed as we speak.
That’s why I’d say an establishing shot of some sort might help.
I agree! I just don’t think there is one available. You’d have to make one up, and that’s a ton of work.
Unless the shot being added to the sequence is an establishing shot, the sequence will never not be broken. The thing that would fix it is an establishing shot, and there isn’t one you can just pull and drop in from somewhere else because of how they edited the final product. You’d have to kitbash one together.

That’s interesting to consider, and a fascinating process. I’m hoping it won’t have to come to that - I have the lines I need the trick is making them sound like they belong together (and they’re pretty close already). My issue is the fine tuning.

I whish there was more conflict between the two, they tried a little with the “your no Leia” scene but we needed more, TLJ should have had the two them go out on an adventure while being in conflict , perhaps Poe hates the stormtroopers and is eager to kill them, perhaps he seeks revenge for something they did to him or his parents, Finn on the other hand would try to help them, seeing the light in his former comrades, Poe opposes and so you have a back and forth tension throughout the film leading to a resolution that progresses their characters.

They tried to do this whole thing where people kept not telling people things, and they weren’t working well together and problems were happening. The issue with this is “not telling people things” isn’t as dramatic as actions, and they only have a couple of examples of that (like Rey facing the TIE fighter alone), and they’re never really interrogated, and ultimately the conflict is never really resolved besides Poe saying “I need you to command with me,” which is pretty basic. You can see a bunch of ways how they could have easily improved this.

See that made sense to me though, in terms of what he was trying to accomplish specifically with their arcs. TROS doesn’t seem to be attempting much at all.
Although in my view it was a weak arc, Rose fit the bill to nudge him in that direction. I just wish they went in a different direction. Leaning into Finn’s ties to the First Order and Poe’s possible fanaticism to the resistance(think Cassian Andor)

That’s fair if it’s not what you wanted, I usually try to judge based on what they’re going for more than what I want. I really liked the direction they took Poe in, the nature of leadership and cocky heroism - I wish they had continued it more seriously in TROS (I’d love for JJ to explain to me why Poe was in an X-wing rather than a capitol ship, especially since he didn’t do anything in that X-wing). Finn did get a bit of the shaft in the edit, but I think his arc was very solid and a good building block for his final arc and conclusion, although unfortunately this was totally ignored in the end with TROS.
Yeah Tros is really the cornerstone of all this, although its far from perfect, DOTF builds pretty nicely on the arcs set up in TLJ, making TLJ and by extension TFA more impactful.

I’ve said this before, but I have a conspiracy theory that early on Rian wanted to set up Finn and Poe together, but they were reluctant to approve of it. This was a big reason why Rian split them up and created Rose’s character. So instead of Poe and Finn kissing in the end, it was Finn and Rose.
I don’t think it is true, but if we ever found out it was, I would definitely say,
“I knew it!”

Has anyone given any thought to somehow delaying the revelation that Chewie is alive after the transport explosion? I don’t know how feasible it would be, but I think the theatrical edit handled it pretty poorly by revealing almost immediately that Chewie is alive, undercutting what was a pretty emotional scene.
Yes I’m doing that. You don’t learn Chewie’s alive until the destroyer arrives on Kijimi and Rey senses him.

I really like the flashing between the shots of helmeted Kylo and dark Rey, and the sound effects.
It’s cool to finally see what you had in mind for Kylo repairing his mask. It definitely gives more clarification as to what motivates Kylo to reforge his mask.
