I'd be all for improving the Special Edition, there's no reason to suggest that sarcastically.

TONIGHT WE DINE IN MUSTAFAR!
Imagine all those Wookiees charging around wearing next to no clothes.
You mean just like they usually do?
That's the joke GIF
I always thought their fur coats were actually coats they wear.
Or that inside every Wookie is an Ewok piloting it.

Yub yub, sir.
Various sites are reporting that Drew Struzan has been approached to design posters for the new Star Wars movie(s).
I'm so not excited about this. For the past couple of decades his work has almost entirely comprised of floating heads and lens flares.
Meh.
Spoiler free for the ST

Partially agree but they still beat lazy PhotoShop jobs.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.
Yoda to feature in first standalone Star Wars film?
I was hoping the standalone features would focus on new characters. Boba Fett maybe but Yoda? If this turns out to be true I'll be sad.
I must admit wondering what Yoda was like in his younger days. Even he must have been young and reckless once! ;)
Where were you in '77?
Sounds like a bag of rock salt to me.

Sadly, the PT ruined the following.
I think it would be cool if Yoda was larger in his youth; appearing similar to the Namekians in Dragon Ball Z. The writer could write-in that his people naturally shrink with age.
This would allow him to fight with less... jumping. Also, it would illustrate that "size matters not" because the increase in wisdom (and oneness with the force) that comes with age would more than compensate for the decrease in height and brawn.

It would have been better never to show Yoda in the PT, only to have Jedi talk about how amazing he is and wonder where he went.
That would have built up an image of a powerful warrior so we would be in the same place Luke is when he meets him in ESB.

I take it all back. I agree with this 100%.

Every new movie that comes out focusing on established characters is a movie that shrinks the Star Wars galaxy.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

But he's only 20 years younger. That/s .02% of his lifespan between the PT and the OT. For a human, that'd be like aging about a year.

Yoda isn't human and I've met some people who have aged that quickly.
One of them seems to be living inside my bathroom cabinet.

I know, but I was thinking that young Yoda might be best portrayed as something similar to Namekians from Dragon Ball Z.

Me too .... it's all I've ever wanted to see happen with them.
As THR first reported, Kasdan and Kinberg are working on separate films that will serve as spinoffs of the main new trilogy. Iger told CNBC that the pair are "working on films derived from great Star Wars characters that are not part of the overall saga, so we still plan to make Star Wars VII, VIII and IX roughtly over a six year period of time starting in 2015. But there are going to be a few other films released in that period of time, too."
It's Official: 'Star Wars' Standalone Films From Lawrence Kasdan, Simon Kinberg in Development
A Kasdan led Yoda film I could get behind. But I still hope the Yoda part of it is false.

It's almost official that Han & Fett will be getting their own movies.

Wow, interesting!
I'm strangely excited, even with the crappy Fett back-story presented in AOTC.

Came here to post that.
Remember how awful an idea it was to have young Han Solo in ROTS?
Still an awful idea. Let's take away the mystery and allure of more OT characters.
I'll ruffle some feathers with this, but all I'm seeing from Disney is the same things we saw from Lucas. That is, shrinking the SW universe further and not coming up with anything original. Just rehashing old concepts. "Hey, a Han Solo movie with Boba Fett and Jabba the Hutt!" Yea, we got that already... :)
While many were saying, "Disney can't do worse than Lucas," I was quietly thinking, "Actually, they can."
I'm not writing them off completely, but it appears to me that Kennedy and Disney are just doing what Lucas probably dictated.

Yes, you're probably right.
With that being said, I was more interested in a young Han than a young Darth Vader prior to TPM and, after seeing the PT, I'm still more interested.
What I really don't want to see is a standalone movie about one of the PT-only characters. That would truly suck. Hard.
However, I do have to admit that I would enjoy a comedy movie starring Watto...
