Okay, update ....... Up to this point, I have to say I've been a bit frustrated because aside from a set of discs folks are using for an ongoing project there hasn't been any other movement on this aside from me obtaining soundtracks and decoding them ...... it was leaving me feel a bit helpless and bummed.
Fast forward to yesterday .... I received a pm on another site from a close acquaintance who has helped me through the DTS mess. He offered a few suggestions and it inspired me to do what work I know I could. I opened up Sony Sound Forge and started work on the audio for Star Trek: First Contact. This is my first real forray into Sound Forge but I'll be darned if I'm going to let this project drop by the wayside .... projects will need audio to work with and people have requested audio they'd like to see be available for use so I'm going to do it.
Now, synching the audio to video is NOT my forte. I will have to learn to do it. Please be patient with me. As long as I can keep the audio as close as I can to fluent without copying, pasting, time shifting and such I will have made it far easier for others to smooth out any minor details.
For everyone who has shown me support, it is greatly appreciated. I will need it to keep moving forward to finally get some of these rolled out. Keep bringing your suggestions and any tips you might want to share. It helps us ALL.
Sincerely,
Shawn
BIG HUGE THANKS to borisanddoris, ElDonante, Silverwook, CapableMetal, and others who have inspired, worked on, and helped in some way to spark folks interest on this matter. WITHOUT them we'd still be wondering and waiting for such preservations. You ALL rock in my book. :)
