Finally, news anchors who aren't afraid to state the facts. Conservatives would call them "leaning to the left", but I call them stating the facts. Keith Olberman had a great segment on today stating how if Barak Obama had all the freudian slips McCain has had, nobody would still consider him a legitimate candidate. You should check them out on msnbc weekdays from 7-10pm.

Keith Olberman is consistently one of the most unbalanced and ridiculous people I am aware of in our nation's mainstream news media. How he can be considered a legitimate newsperson is beyond me. In this particular instance, he's obviously ignoring all of the "slips" that Obama has made.

Keith Olberman.  I can't seem to really recall.  Is he the nut that thinks Bush should be tried for War Crimes.  and that Bush is Un-American then no he would not be a fair and balanced reporter as he is playing to the very far sociialist left.  Only Liberals could say with a straight face that Bush should have been Hung Side by side with Saddam.  That was not spoken by Olberman but must be implied.  That quote actually comes from Imus.   You know that idiotic Liberal who also made the nappy headed ho remarks, and other racist stuff like the thing about the black quarterback.  you know the comment where he asked was he black when he was arrested.

Their are factions of nutcases in both Parties one Side leans all the way to the left, the other all the way to the right.  We need to return balance to politics and the white house.   At the same time it would not hurt to get back to non biased fact based journalism something that has been missing from America for a long time.

Even a far left liberal like Cronkite had class something someone like Olberman will never have.

McCain is a Moderate and is closer to what i am looking for.  Obama too far to the left and Bush now Considered to be so far to the right he may as well be a loon.  Democrats have to Make an enemy out of McCain who has reached across parties lines in the past and wants more Bipartisanship.  They have to make him Look Like an Arch Right Wing Conservative Extremist Christian to meet their goals of having Obama take office.

The problem that Conservatives has with McCain is that he is not one of them, Because of that he has my vote but they see that as a stumbling block.  Too bad he has had to play to the Republican Faction of Reactionaries, when he should be more clearly targeting middle America and not just the rich.  Obama has done a better job doing the targetting of the average american.  Even though he is not one of them he has to pretend he is to get elected.

Who were the last Presidents who were able to inspire hope in this nation.  I know JFK of course was president around the time right before the country went all negative starting in the 1960's.  The Sixties and Seventies were a nonsensical time and are very much a blur in this country except for the vietnam war, hippies and drugs and music.  I guess the first President who Inspired the same Optimism as Kennedy was a Republican by the name of Ronald Reagan.  And then Bush Sr. became President and it has been one negative slope from their on down, even though Clinton Tried the Optimism thing in his first years in the white house scandals already wrecked anything good he could have done.  Bush Jr's Idealism Strengthened the nation after blowjobgate and 911 but then collapsed under a war poorly planned and executed proving he was a nincompoop.

The media hated Reagan too.  The media seems to have a general disdain for anybody with an R after their name.

Reagan inspired hope and optimism against Carter's negativity.  Reagan told the people that we needed to get the government out of their lives.  That the only way to make America strong again was by letting the people lead the way to a great America.  Through hard work and perseverance, Reagan knew we could be great.  Carter just wanted everyone to accept Communism and not try to change the world.

Neither candidate today can hold a candle to Reagan.

I used to watch all these shows back in the 90's, but now they are so one sided I can't watch them anymore.  Sure the shows always tilted one way, as Chris Matthews leaned to the left, O'Reilly to the right, but now the shows are just propaganda for each candidate.

Turn on Fox and they are burying Obama, turn on MSNBC and they are burying McCain, and these are now made just to preach to the choir.  The audience for these shows are people who have already made up their mind on their vote and just want to hear things from 'their' point of view.

In the old days, there would be good debate on these shows, there would be objective analysis on both sides, now it comes down to if you are voting for McCain, turn on Fox.  If you are voting for Obama, turn on MSNBC.

I can't wait til this shit is over, because myself being an independent who doesn't drink the kool-aid for either side, I can hopefully start having  a debate with friends instead of hearing their bull shit talking points, because neither side wants to say anything bad about their candidate.  No matter who wins tonight, can I just ask the partisans on both sides to be civil and actually look at things objectively instead of drinking the kool aid from your party so we can solve the problems of this country.

I’m an original member here dating back to 2004. Haven’t posted in years, but looking forward to posting again.

This is why I won't watch 24 hour news channels. I really only watch the Daily Show and Colbert Report and they will damn well admit they are biased and I love the correspondents sharp wit.
