When I heard of her heart attack and after reading the details, I felt that this was sadly a large possibility.

My wife, who’s in the medical field, said the same thing.

This is horrible. I will miss her and I never met her. She really was the best.

A forum post can’t express how I feel about this. She was an inspiration and fueled my imagination in childhood and beyond. RIP Carrie and thank you.

Poor Gary. His Mommy isn’t there anymore. I hope Debbie Reynolds or Billie takes good care of him.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

i know carrie’s death is devastating, and i know we’re all mourning the loss of such a bright soul, but in these dark times please don’t forget what she taught us.

don’t forget that your mental illness doesn’t define you, but it’s not something to be ashamed of, either. don’t forget that you are so much more than it. don’t forget that you are not alone in your fight.

don’t forget that a jewish woman was a princess, and a general, and that she kicked some major ass.

don’t forget that you are beautiful no matter what age, no matter how your body has changed, no matter what unrealistic standards you face.

don’t forget that carrie was so much more than just princess leia. she was an author, activist, mother, friend, inspiration.

A good friend (who has never seen a Star Wars anything, bless him)sent me a text that just said “Your first love passed away today.” That kinda made it hit home in a different way. Carrie had a strong impact on me as a very young person. She made me realize that I liked girls before I had a chance to go through the typical “Girls are different and bad” phase. She let me know that some could talk sass, kick ass and could be strong, important characters. (My own mother and sister helped to naturally stress that point as well 😃 )
Star Wars could have been silly and stupid with any other actress in the role of my favorite Space Princess/Soldier/Spy. I’ve always felt that her impact on the films has always been overlooked. If she had been played by a typical actress and portrayed as a typical princess… I don’t think I’d have been a Star Wars fan.

It was so good to be seeing so much of her lately, and this is extremely sad news. She will be sorely missed. It feels like this came out of nowhere. My next viewing of Rogue One won’t be with dry eyes.
RIP

Hey guys. TheBoost here. It’s been a while and when everything switched I didn’t know what the hell my login was anymore. But at a moment like this, even in the wierd space of message boards, one wants to be among friends.

Very sad.

She’ll always be royalty to me.

If there’s any tiny consolation in all this (and there isn’t), it’s that TheBoost came back.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

I can’t believe she’s gone.

I mean. Like. What do you even say. I grew up with Carrie almost. She was as much a part of my life through Princess Leia as my real life friends and family were… and she was just amazing to read about and seemed like one of the most real and genuine people in Hollywood.

I dunno what to even say. This sucks.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

RIP Carrie. 😦

Edit: okay… forum makes sad smiley a happy smiley… Thanks.

I just came back home after a second viewing of Rogue One less than thirty minutes ago. The first thing that popped up after I turned on my phone’s wifi was an article “In memory of Carrie Fisher.”

I am still shocked. I saw her forty minutes ago on the screen. No, I know it was CGI. But I was back in my childhood, looking at one of my heroes. The stauch Rebel princess.

It sounds stupid but I cannot stop thinking if this silly luck of watching a Star Wars movie, having a new Star Wars movie with Leia at the very end as it’s highlight actually, was an ironic and poetic way for her to make her exit. Carrie Fisher always loved to make those meta-jokes about her role…

Sorry for the rambling. I am just very sad and surprised…

Think people here will understand. We just lost our beloved princess. RIP Carrie Fisher.
