It'd really make more sense to move the forum after everyone has seen Episode 7 and the hype begins to die down. Anyone else agree?

Why do you think that? All the old posts are going to transfer over. Do you just mean in case there is downtime?
Yes, of course there will be downtime.
I care more about the forum migration than some damn movie I may not even end up seeing, so my answer is no, I don't agree.
With all the server issues we've had in the past year, I doubt it's going to take the strain after the movie is out.
In any case, it's Jay's call, not ours.

I have to say you are one of the most interesting Star Wars fans out there, DuracellEnergizer
Prequel Fan-Edit thread: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Yet-another-series-of-prequel-edits/id/17329
I'd say I'm one of the most bitter SW fans out there, personally (Generalfrevious has got me beat in that department, though.).
I'm still skeptical that it'll happen at all ;). Can I be hanshotfirst1138 like I am on every forum I occupy?

At least you're not Piers Morgan, who might just become the most hated guy on the internet after what he said about Star Wars today. ;)

It's too bad there wasn't a thread you could have asked this in, and you were forced to waste one of our precious new thread resources....

I'm sure a heartfelt retraction will follow once he awakens to a Taun Taun head on his pillow. ;)

I think the migration should wait until we can do it in style.
I'd rather have it migrated before the movie, so that there's no interruption in our post-release discussion
We need to do it before it gets too cold.
I say the migration should happen right when the movie comes out, precisely so no one can discuss it.
That would be great, because I wouldn't miss 10+ pages of discussion in my thread while I'm waiting to see the movie.

That's a good idea. It will extend the time period before the lovely grumps here make me realize I really hated the film all along. :D

I think this line from Hamlet sums up the above quite succinctly:
"It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
I hope this ain’t the final look for the site. The huge letters are a real turn off. And you have to log in just to see the forums.
It’s a work in progress. And Jay is doing this by himself and out of his own pocket.
All he ever asks of us is a little patience. Keep that in mind.

That doesn’t seem like a bad thing. Most forums are at least partially this way.

My favorite part is the people (like dark_jedi) who are threatening to leave because of it. Good-bye, sayeth I!
I’ll never leave. If I could tolerate the constant outages and the way the text editor screwed up the formatting of my posts on the old software, I can tolerate this.
