CAFTA - The Beginning of the End

Author

CAFTA passed the American House by two votes the other day. This is pretty much the end for America as it once was. We are now on the road to becoming like the EU, with Canada and Mexico.

Maybe one day Planet Earth will be like a planet in Star Trek - one government, no nations.

War does not make one great.

One government, no nations, and pretty soon we will be invaded by "bugs" and march up to war in our pseudo-Nazi uniforms bragging about planetary pride and the like.

Why Anakin really turned to the dark side:
"Anakin, You're father I am" - Yoda
"No. No. That's not true! That's impossible!" - Anakin

That was the funniest comedy film I have seen in theaters in as long as I can remember! I was laughing SO hard throughout that film that A) I literally fell out of my seat once and B) Had tears in my eyes from laughing when I left the theater! And I thought Verhoeven couldn't out-do 'Showgirls' for making me laugh!!

LOL

"Its a bug... a big bug."

"It feels..... afraid."

AHhahahahaahaaaaaaa.......

but again we've strayed from topic- now back to our regularly scheduled program...

Okay one last blurb... you laughed at Showgirls?!?! I cried for the future of the film industry while watching that movie. Big fat tears of impending doom.

Okay back to CAFTA...

Usage Note: The words ironic, irony, and ironically are sometimes used of events and circumstances that might better be described as simply “coincidental” or “improbable,” in that they suggest no particular lessons about human vanity or folly. Thus 78 percent of the Usage Panel rejects the use of ironically in the sentence In 1969 Susie moved from Ithaca to California where she met her husband-to-be, who, ironically, also came from upstate New York. Some Panelists noted that this particular usage might be acceptable if Susie had in fact moved to California in order to find a husband, in which case the story could be taken as exemplifying the folly of supposing that we can know what fate has in store for us. By contrast, 73 percent accepted the sentence Ironically, even as the government was fulminating against American policy, American jeans and videocassettes were the hottest items in the stalls of the market, where the incongruity can be seen as an example of human inconsistency.

Ill choose my words more carefully in the future

Actually...
Boy, I wish I could find it...

I saw a US government PDF file I saw on Glenn Beck website that basically discusses that very thing.
Ahh, here it is:
Building a North American Community
"We propose a community based on the principle affirmed in the March 2005 Joint Statement of the three leaders that “our security and prosperity are mutually dependent and complementary.” Its boundaries will be defined by a common external tariff and an outer security perimeter within which the movement of people, products, and capital will be legal, orderly, and safe. Its goal will be to guarantee a free, secure, just, and prosperous North America."

Separate issue:
I do want to point something out...Canada and Mexico are not involved with CAFTA. They are part of NAFTA and that has been around for almost a decade.

Semantics...the governance that will result is the end to the means (GATT, CAFTA, WTO, NAFTA, etc).
