@Imrahil- That is the artwork I've wanted forever but not having the photoshop skills, couldn't do.

If you do make blu ray versions of those, are you planning on sharing them on here?

Sure. I'm working out the kinks in the design right now; the spine will probably change slightly, and I need to figure out a way to make the back pictures a bit more visible. Something that works on an 8X10 cardback sort of disappears a bit on a 5" blu ray cover. ;)

That's ironic that the original trilogy characters stylized in the prequel poster style, look a thousand times better.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

So I printed Harmy's covers and disc art out and they came out a bit dark and some of the detail was lost when I tried using the best option on my HP photosmart premium printer.  I then tried it on normal option and the same happened.  I am using HP photo-quality ink-jet paper.

Anyone have any advice on how to print them better?  What is the best paper to use?  Should I use something other than 8.5x11?

Also, with the disc art how do you print them?  I manually lined up the .jpg with a template I found online for Word and is was almost lined up perfect but not quite and it took forever.  There has to be an easier way.

Thanks

Finished my Kenner-inspired BD covers for both trilogies  + bonus disc.

I sized them for 6-disc cases because I put in the DVDs (Adywan's, etc) in the cases with the BD.

In a vein similar to Harmy's restorations I have restored the film posters to the best of my abilities. They may not be 100% accurate, but they are very pleasing to the eye. I did my own take of the Definitive laser disc box set, though it is still quite different. I'm almost done with the discs, so they will be uploaded sometime in the next few days or so.

All art and images are pre 1997 material to make things more legit. The only images on the back that are not from Harmy's preservation are promotional images and what not.

It is a shame that ESF only promised that good looking "LD" box and never delivered the result ...

I said to myself, I'm not gonna do a Star Wars set. Everyone else is doing it. And if I WAS gonna do a Star Wars set, I certainly wasn't doing a Drew set. Everyone is doing a Drew set...

*sigh*

[snip]

I really want these.

Although, I would really like to have an Episode III cover that doesn't have Vader on it, as I plan to use the prequel covers for Q2's fanedit, which doesn't have Vader's suit nor name mentioned in it.

Does anyone have any good BD covers for Q2's Fall of the Jedi prequel fanedits?

I don't like the choices he has on fanedit.org, because they don't look official, and they don't match any OT covers.

I'm putting together a Blu-ray compilation of all of Babyhum's discs. Anyone interested in making some artwork for that?

Chyron, are you preparing for J.J. Abrams style overs? :D

Sorry, couln't resist with the lens flares.

I would go with the bottom cover as the flare is there, but doesn't drown out the rest of the image.

Ok, these are the new and improved covers, with disk art that doesn't have a template over it. I fixed grammar, and hopefully any issues with color, though my monitor isn't the best judge. The box is being postponed.

{NOTICE: This preview was made before errors were brought to my attention, but it is pretty much what you get}

As I stated before, if you have any problems with the link, give a shout.

{Anyone still have these in Full Res? They're awesome, but the link is dead!}

I've been putting together some covers for Harmy's Despecialized restorations by cannibalizing parts of other covers and changing a few things here and there.

So far, I've finished "Star Wars."

(CLICK FOR FULL SIZE)

Here is the .psd for it: http://www.mediafire.com/download/zkdzkrbzg1lawpr/ANH_project.psd
There are hidden "Episode IV" and "A New Hope" layers in the .psd, in case you wanted to have it. I had it there initially, but people in Harmy's thread didn't like it.

I'm still working on ESB at the moment, as I'm planning to experiment a bit with how an actual "Empire Strikes Back" logo will look on it. Other than that, it's pretty much also done, I guess.

Your input is welcome.

The fronts look wonderful as there is nothing better for covers than original poster art. I like the spines and the leather look of the back. However I d not care for the synopsis as it look out of place. I think what really hurts it is the justification of the paragraphs. I think you have some nice WIP's but I would really consider playing around with the back middle area. But for the most part I like where this is headed.

Given that those other covers you've 'cannibalized' were made by other people, perhaps some credit where credit's due is in order? 'Trademark' features of ABC and Coov's covers are plain to see in your design, and those are arguably the most successful parts (IMO, of course).

It appears as if those links to download the covers are broken. =[

I need to see if I have these anywhere.

I started working retail after I said that. I'm gonna take another wack at it. I should still have the files. My computer is coughing up dust, but I should still be able to get something.

Well, I didn't have the finished files, but luckily, I had to original project files. So I finished them up along with the box. I lost the directions to how to make the box, but it's pretty self explanatory.

Here is the link. It's a large size, but they are large files.
