In MoS, he does kill a lot of people, yes. In BvS, not counting the MoS flashback stuff at the start, the killcount for Supes is: 0.

And the terrorist guy at the beginning, and yes they do specify that he died

Wait, didn’t Supes deny that he was responsible for any deaths that occurred in Africa and maintained he was being framed?

Well they accused him of instigating the terrorist which caused them to attack the village so I assume they refer to that

I really hated Man of Steel, it’s probably the worst movie IMO I have seen in a theatre and one of the worst movies I’ve seen. But still, Batman and Superman are my two favorite comic book characters and pretty much the only ones I like, so there was no doubt I was going to see this movie.
So, hating MoS and seeing the movie was rated one star by Metro, my expectations were probably the lowest ever when going to see a film. And because of that, I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t expecting a good representation of Superman or Batman, but Cavill is a pretty good Superman in this and Affleck is one of the best, if not the best movie version of Batman. Wonderwoman and Alfred were good too. Lex… not so much but there were a few okay moments. To me, there hasn’t been a good Lex on the screen at all yet, so this isn’t anything new. Yeah, there were stupid moments and all that but I felt entertained. The fight scene was well made and I really got a kick out of it. The movie just was 30min too long, Doomsday shouldn’t have been there at all and Superman’s death was pointless and didn’t have any impact.
All in all, way better than I thought as superhero entertainment, I’ll most likely pick this up from a bargain bin unlike MoS, but as a film or art or whatever, not really, but I think that was expected.

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

I just realized that if I cut Doomsday out from the entire movie, I also would have to cut out Wonder Woman being awesome towards the end.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

More like

Batman v Superman > Batman + Superman + Wonder Woman v Lex Luthor Jr. v Doomsday: Dawn of Destroying the shit outta everything

Lex was awful casting, Eisenberg was way too over-the-top. I think they were trying for a Ledger Joker type, but they completely botched it. Doomsday was stupid, it makes it so that there’s nobody that the JL can fight now. Doomsday is supposed to be the top dog, but 3 of them can take him out, nobody will be a match for a full Justice League. If this movie had Bryan Cranston as Lex, and him revealing his mech suit be the climax rather than Doomsday, then I’d probably like it a lot more.

That being said, I loved the soundtrack. I also think that Lex did have some good moments, like the Granny’s Peach Tea bombing. That came totally out of left-field and I loved it, planting the bomb in that guys wheelchair was a totally Lex thing to do.

I’m getting more excited for the eventual fanedits than I ever got for the official movie.

Me too, I want to see other peoples’ takes on the movie

Yeah, I think that especially with the director’s cut that I’m pretty sure will be coming out, this movie has the potential to be fan-edited into something coherent.

The director’s cut was confirmed some time ago.

Anyway, here’s the pre-order info:

I really want to make a fast paced 80-90 minute cut of this film, basically cutting out everything that doesn’t need to be there, like Wonder Woman, JL setup, Doomsday, death of Superman, etc.

Not enough people read the EU.

I’d love to see it.

I want an edit that can replace that awful, angsty, sadistic monster with Superman.

The more time passes, the more I hate this version of the character that Snyder dares to call Superman.

MY FAVORITE PART OF THIS THREAD IS THE QUESTION MARK IN THE TITLE

THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION IS YES

I paid good money to see Batman V Superman, twice:

Lex really didn’t need to be a socially awkward Tourette’s sufferer but I’m assuming this is his formative period so I’m seeing the performance as deliberate and thought-through.

The rest of the Justice League didn’t need to cameo but that’s more a business choice than a narrative one so I’m taking it as a few more herbs sprinkled into the sauce.

Jimmy Olson certainly didn’t need to be a CIA agent but as he wasn’t called by name in the actual film and unless you read the credits you’d never know so I’m letting it go.

Many, many scenes needed more time to breathe but I’m hoping the extended ultimate fantastico cut will remedy that. But then again it’s a Zack Snyder movie so we might get even more heavily clipped scenes!

Everything else worked really well for me and I was not disappointed (I don’t watch trailers so I had no idea what I was in for.)

Overall… I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and I feel like it was money well spent, twice.

The popcorn was horrid though. VUE cinemas have destroyed my childhood (somehow).
