OH YEAH - I forgot to mention the ISOLATED track is ALMOST done!!!!

So I should be ready to launch the first disc in a few weeks or so NOW the big question is should I outsource the MENU creation or should I just make a nice simple menu???

The samples were well received!!!!!!!!

I do need to work on the Audio as the delay from DGIndex is still off a bit (grrrrr.) so IF any off my collaborators would like to take a swing at the audio sync drop me a PM and I'll send you the files for fixing (I'll try in a few days...) and once that's done I'll start laying the tracks for the isolated score as I have 75% of the cue points done now

Hey Rik

Mitch here, thansk again for all your help with my project and the questions you answered via email.

BTW!! are you going to include the Network Television Prologue in the Extras section of the set.

I mean the the DVD I sent ya and you reencoded! Seems since this is a Defenitive set it would be best to include and havea little snippet of what it was and why it was.

Thanks

Remember, Highlander, you’ve both still got your full measure of life. Use it well, and your future will be glorious.

I'm including the entire "Broadcast" Version with the voice-over prologue on one of the discs

I'm going to compile what I've got and what I've gotten into a large set still but I may pass on the HDTV version....

Okay, I'm done with screwing with the audio for the HDTV version and would rather spend the time with my Datsuns SO IF anyone would like to pick up from where I left off that would be cool just PM me and I'll get back at ya with details (I'll still do the ISO if you can match the main audio here) I'm not sure if it's my PC or the software I'm running but it sucks -

SO, for the next week I'll be breaking my 77' 4-dr B210 into parts and then dismantle the rest for the recyclers!!! (need the room for my new 610 S.W. and possible 710 2-dr Sedan )

AFTER, that I'll get to the DVD's of the ALT versions of BR

DRIVE HAPPY!!!!!!

It's a shame you've given up on your HDTV to DVD transfer, because from what I saw the video samples looked to be very good quality.

Solving audio sync problems is not as difficult as you might think, even if you can't rely on DGIndex to report the correct delay. Mux your video and audio together with a zero delay, play the output VOB file in Media Player Classic. This player gives you the option to alter the delay during playback, so it's easily adjusted to find the correct value.

However, I've seen a couple of posts saying the 5.1 mix that was broadcast was not from a true multi-channel source, and sounded more like it was upmixed from a 2-channel source. If this is the case, I would say forget this audio, and use the original Dolby 2.0 Surround from the director's cut on either the DVD or laserdisc. (Failing that, I have the director's cut on VHS, and would be happy to sync that audio up to your video.)

I'm actually going to be syncing the laserdisc soundtrack to my new version since so many people complained.

If your up for it I can send the video file over your way, as I would rather spend the time on my Datsuns then tweaking the audio

If you can find the correct value (I assume it gives the millisecond delay), then you can compile it in DVDLab, which lets you set the appropriate delay to whatever you want. Makes it really easy to correct sync well after the audio and video streams have been generated.

Well either you or moth3r can take the source fills if either one of you is down

Are the audio and video streams ready? All it needs is syncing and mastering? If that's the case, I can do it very quickly. You know my address.

You've been elected then

I'll just burn them up in a day or so then, I'd like to do the menus though as I have a "master" plan at work here and I still need to add the isolated score

Rikter,

Are you still doing multiple audio options?

UPDATE -

I'll be sending MeBeJedi the encoded video and the original AC3 file (I just need to con a few DL DVD's from my brother ) after that once I get the corrected files back I'll add the isolated score (it should be PCM - to preserve the audio quality) AND I should also start do work on the other DVD's in a week or so now as I've now got all the stuff gathered (except a few things but no rush)

Now...

BACK TO THE DATSUNS!!

5. I’m done with you and your needless, unwanted and unwarranted “blah, blah, blah”, so you win okay; YOU ARE THE WINNER of what ever it is you’re trying to achieve by all your witty comments and statements and I yield to your greatness. (Does this make you feel better now?) BUT please keep making your comments and remarks; my subscription to the Funny Times just lapsed

Yet I must be honest, I will still trade for or download your DVD’s even though I do not like you as a person - I still do think you release some DAMN GREAT DVD’s!!!

I thought I was very clear last march.

I've gotten a new hard drive and I now have all the BR stuff on my HD, I've also sent out the BR 2005/HDTV DC to MBJ so he should have it by the end of this new week, I gotta get a hold of DJ and see about getting the DL version of his latest Criterion transfer and once this is all figured out and I get the 2005/HDTV DC back from MBJ, I'll finish up the Isolated Score for the disc. SO the set is looking like it will be either a 6 disc DL set or a 8 disc mix of DL & SL.

ENJOY the new week gang!!!!!!!!!

For now the plan is...

Downloads and all of the contributors will be on a private PIF chain for the DL source discs after that they will spread outwards but I will also be willing to burn full sets for those that do not have bandwidth.
