Before I begin, let me make a confession:

I like ALL the Star Wars movies. The OOT, the SE, the DVDs, and the Prequels. Almost all the changes in the SE don't bother me, and I think the Prequels are state-of-the-art*. However, there are two things in ROTJ SE and ROTS that I like, but am concerned about and should point out before it's too late. (or is it?

1. I have a huge crush on Asian women, and one of the dancers in ROTJ SE's Jedi Rocks happened to be an Asian woman. Needless to say, I get ecstasy every time I see her. But what concerns me is, she was put into one of the worst and most criticized changes of the SE, and I try to make sure that no one actually dissed her, just the song. But to my dismay, someone did! The infamous Chefelf, while flaming Jedi Rocks, turned his anger onto the dancers and dissed them all. Standing up for my love, I tried to make him apologize. But he openly said I was joking. One of the reasons I never read his reasons to hate Star Wars again.

2. The Water Opera in Episode III was one of my favorite parts of that movie. It was peaceful and tranquil and gave you time to relax while you listened to Palpatine lure Anakin to the Dark Side. But when I read you-know-who's reasons to hate Episode III, he called the opera "dip****" and "ridiculous". Once I saw that, I never went to his site again, because I condemned him a remorseless SOB. Even though he liked the OOT, he showed no mercy even for the good parts of the SE and Prequels and shot down every little minor detail, even the things I like.

So I made this thread because I want you people to make me a promise. I don't care how much you diss the SE and the Prequels, because I understand how you feel about them. Just don't diss the Asian woman and the Water Opera. Because if you do, it will hurt me, and I don't want to be hurt more than I felt when I left Chefelf's site forever.

*Please remember: Even though what I've said is true, I still think George Lucas should give the OOT more respect and make it available to the public, which is why I joined this website.

Ok, that doesn't make any sense. There were no asian women in that scene. Just asian looking CGI aliens.

And I'm going to test this theory about having this guy never post here again. Here goes.

The water opera was just plain silly and used to show off CGI and a scene that needed none. (I won't comment on Asian women...I'll get flamed because I'll be viewed as racist no matter what I say.)

A. The Jazzy number they put into Jabba's Palace in the Special Edition of Jedi. I don't consider Wiki a reliable source, but I don't think they left out too much in their definition of “Jedi Rocks”, here’s the link:

Well, I have to say I don't like the new song and I didn't like the new CGI singer, or the CGI Sy but I can honestly say I have no issues with the dancers. At all. Well done to them. I wish you luck there, Ingo Sucks.

As for the 'Water Opera', I got really intersted in seeing what was going on as the scene between Lil' Orphan Annie and Palps really wasn't holding my attention. [Snooze...]

First let me say that you’re quite welcome.

Second let me say that I have issues with the very title Jedi Rocks. If most of the GFFA doubts that Jedi ever existed why is some backwater band on Tatooine writing songs about them? Also I was under the impression that “rock” is a term from our Universe. I can grant that similar types of music could develop independently in separate Galaxies, but would they use the EXACT same term for that music? It’s one of those moments that remind me of the direct influence of our Galaxy on the GFFA. Other notable instances would be the Tarzan yell in ROTJ and the E.T.s that appear in the Senate chambers during TPM. The E.T.s are probably the worst because their presence confirms that Earth exists in the GFFA.

Yeah, I've always hated that Tarzan yodel in ROTJ - lame, lame, lame. It takes you right out of the moment for a joke that is old and tired. The Endor sequence doesn't need a gag at that point at all (or at any point, for that matter).

Three ETs confirm what hundreds of humans couldn't? I find it less of a stretch of the imagination to believe that a small group of ETs could develop intergalactic space travel during the time period since 'A long time ago' than the appearance of humans on hundreds of worlds!

Where does Chefelf actually say something bad (racist?) about the Asian Dancer? I don't see it. He just says in his nitpicks that they're really bad costumed people and I tend to agree with him. He's not picking on her because she's Asian.

Oh, and the water opera sucks.

So you've decided something written on a humourous website about Star Wars is a personal insult to you and now have a personal vendetta against someone who doesn't share quite the same point of view as you?
Your reaction is totally unacceptable.

My mind boggles as to what eactly you reported, cos unless there's something going on that you haven't mentioned, there is no 'incident'. And I hope you sent Lucasfilm the url for this thread as 'evidence', cos they'll be laughing their ass off.

Hopefully some good will come of this, and Lucasfilm will file your 'report' in the appropriate bin, reserve a special place for you on their cranks list.


On the subject of water opera's, anyone else remember the concept art for that scene, with the female mon calamari water dancers? Shame that never made it onto the screen, cos that would've at least made the opera more interesting than the bland abstract blobs they ended up with.

Why would you post that here? did you expect support? sympathy? You are only going to keep pissing people off with behaviour like that. As stated chefelf has done nothing wrong, he hasn't wronged you and he certainly hasn't wronged Lucasfilm.

The thing that annoys me most is that you posted this in multiple threads.

BTW, What water opera were you watching, cuz the only one i saw involved an extreme close up of Palpy and Anakin.
