Anamorphic widescreen?

Now its my understanding Anamorphic widescreen is better considering it stays in widesreen format, but fill up your tv screen on non-widesreen tvs. Now are the majority of the older preservation discs in just letterbox (reinventing the wheel) or which ones are in the Anamorphic widescreen? I don't have a widescreen tv here at home and been wondering this. Thanks for your time.

So the forum titled "General Preservation and Fan Edits> Requests, HOW-TO'S, and TECHNICAL DISCUSSIONS " means nothing to you then....interesting.
Hint: Your post is in the wrong forum. The forum about "How-To's and Technical Discussions" (or even the OFF TOPIC Forum) is where I would of posted a question about Anamorphic widescreen vs. 4:3....but that's just me.....
I think you need to spend a little more time reading and getting to know this place BEFORE you do anything else....

You are definitely not looking hard enough, then.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I know he's new, and I feel kind of guilty for being a bit harsh, but it's not hard to look around and learn things here.

Thanks for moving this guys. Sorry for any trouble, I have been looking around and when I don't find it, I ask.

Personally when using letterbox sources I always end up creating a letterbox version (for normal tellies) and an anamorphic version for widescreen ones.
If starting out with anamorphic sources I usually leave them that way and let the DVD player squish it back to letterbox for normal TVs (i.e. I don't bother making a letterbox version)
