What can I say, I’m lazy.
Anyone else like how in the latest Axanar motion that they walk back their grand descriptions of their projects to “short mockumentary” and “potential fan film”? I mean, I was excited for the project, but I feel like their making Paramount/CBS narrow down their copyright is only going to hurt the whole fan film concept. And I don’t think they’re going to convince a judge that the Klingon language is an “idea” and can’t be copyrighted and that they can use these minor Star Trek characters because they’re not famous enough to automatically have copyright (even though if a writer in the new official series wanted to use an older character they would have to pay the creator of that character, IIRC).

Well after watching 09 last night, I rewatched the trailer for Beyond and read up on some of the interviews about the movie and how much nearly everyone involved hates the trailer.
I’m finally starting to have some hope for this movie.

According to some fan sites the new show will be set in the prime universe between The Undiscovered Country and Encounter at Farpoint, but I can’t find it on any source which would look “official”. Is it just a dumb rumour or was it already confirmed?

The new series will actually be set during the TOS era, and will follow the misadventures of one Harcourt Fenton Mudd. It will be called Pimp Trek. 😉

Mudd’s Women was actually the first episode of Star Trek that I ever saw, and is one of my favorite TOS episodes primarily for that reason. Looking back on it, it is actually quite boring though.

^Same. I remember seeing “I, Mudd” before “Mudd’s Women” and never knew why they seemed to know who he is from the past. Then I saw “Mudd’s Women” and never liked it as much because it was so much less weird.

“I, Mudd” is one of my favorite episodes of TOS. It’s just so goofy.
I loved that one too, primarily because of the dancing and the silliness used to fool the androids.

Mudd’s Passion , AKA the episode that probably launched a thousand slash fanfics. 😉
It’s too bad Mudd never turned up in the movies. Imagine how Trek IV could have gone if Kirk and Company had to go on the lam from the Federation and/or the Klingons, and in desperation turn to Mudd for help?
There was a rumor after Roger C. Carmel’s passing that he had talked to Shatner about reprising the role. Don’t know if there’s any truth to it.
Mudd also turned up in the 25th anniversary PC game. Can’t recall who did the voice, but it was a good impression of Carmel.

I have plans to make an animated series based on Star Trek: The Original Series. I basically wanted to make sequels to episodes of the series if it is possible. Do you know what episodes of the original series need sequels?
Write down the name of every episode on scrap pieces of paper, mix them up in a bag, and draw out at random as many as you wish.
