Oh bother! It was in response to Duracell’s zombie comment.

This thread should be shot and burned and buried.

It would only rise up as a zombie stinking of burnt hair and charred, putrefying flesh.

I thought people around here were versed enough in the Friday The 13th movies to know Jason got resurrected by a bolt of lightning in Part VI and has been pretty much a zombie ever since? Pretty sure the pyscho killer who won’t stay dead as metaphor for OT threads that won’t die has been used by others in the past.

Having just completed a run through of the Jason franchise for the first time I found it both amusing and timely.

What’s wrong with the official release of ALIEN?

If I had to guess, the problem is that is isn’t 4K. Unless there’s a 4K release idk about.

The Alien blu-ray is one of the best looking transfers I’ve seen of a sci-fi film of that era. I’d be very pleased indeed if a new official release of the OT came out looking like that.

That’s the hope, but there’s no guarantee. It’s close to being done though from what I gather.

I heard that there were some issues with the color timing.

Having been born a decade after the film’s original theatrical run, I can’t speak to the color timing’s accuracy, but it certainly looks good.

Aliens has some serious revisionist color timing going on.

Alien looks a little different from the earlier home video versions some grew used to, but it’s not obviously wrong the way Aliens clearly is. It’s entirely possible that it’s actually very close to what it would have looked like in 1979.

I do have a copy that was color-matched to a 90’s Laserdisc that I quite like the look of, but IMO there’s nothing actually wrong with the BR color timing for Alien.

Once one of us gets the job, our Ocean’s 11 style heist can begin. 😛

If only this could save THX 1138

Fans are doing it for themselves. All good things take some time.

There aren’t an HD sources for the lost scenes, are there?

I never cease to be amazed by the effort behind fan edits.
