yes because he is a commedian. It is rare that the oscar goes to a comedy performance. But you seemed to imply that the Acedemy had somthing against Carey in particular.

While those movies did win, there are many others that won that aren't blockbusters with alots of action. This year's winner for example. Driving Miss Daisy, Shakespear In Love, American Beauty, A Beautiful Mind are others.
