Well, on the topic of sock accounts, I think that the mastermind posted all of these hentai porn pics so that he can beat his meat without getting caught. (Probably a dumb idea.)

Is this the ‘Ranking Sock Accounts’ thread?

I think at this point I’m ready to put TFA above ROTJ. To put it in terms of albums…

Star Wars and ESB are masterpieces, not a bad track on either album.

ROTJ has some of my favorite songs but overall I think TFA is a slightly better collection of songs.

For the PT, Lucas kicked out all previous band members and made three albums without any other creative input. TPM at least felt like the same band was responsible, but some of the songs are just embarrassing. ROTS was an album that tried to hit all the notes from the original band but failed miserably. AOTC was created by putting a bunch of instruments in a trash compactor.

What a great way to put it. I agree.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

It took me a while to admit that as well but that’s more to due with the growing problems I had with ROTJ while my opinion of TFA stayed relatively the same. I think a good fanedit of ROTJ would be on par with the theatrical version of TFA though.

No fanedit can fix the Ewoks and their defeat of the Emporer’s* best troops.**

It can reduce the Ewoks and fix other things like the “Somehow I’ve always known line”, Luke instantly finding out that he has a sister out of nowhere", the droid torture scene etc. and there’s only one man who can complete such a task.

A good TFA edit would be too much for any version of ROTJ though.

It can but that doesn’t fix the problem.

TFA edges out ROTJ and I don’t think a fan edit for either would do much to change that.

I think Ady will fix that.

Sorry, I should have said “99.99% of fanedits cannot fix that.”

In the past couple of weeks I’ve finally taken the plunge into PT fan edits, and I’m a little surprised at what it’s done to my rankings. I’ve traditionally ranked AOTC at the bottom of my list because in its official form it’s somehow as boring as TPM and as head-scratchingly stupid as ROTS at the same time, but I think it’s been my favorite of the three in both edits of the PT I’ve seen so far (those being L8wrtr’s and HAL9000’s). Now that I’ve seen it with most of the awful stripped away, I think I agree with Harmy’s assertion a while back that it’s got the best story of the trilogy.

I’ve already posted my list in this thread once or twice, but I figured I could give my thoughts on the films as I rewatch them. I’ve been watching in them in no particular order so that I can (hopefully) view them as individual movies and not just parts of a larger series. So far…:

Star Wars - The more I watch, the more I see “low budget 70’s sci-fi”. That’s not a bad thing, I find it endearing.

The Phantom Menace - I think the only reason I don’t hate this movie more is because it was shot using film and has a fair amount of practical set pieces. This is the only prequel that even remotely resembles the visual style of the OT and that makes a difference to me.

The Force Awakens - I really wish I could extend most shots in this movie by a second or two. It has the cinematographic equivalent of ADHD. Aside from that, TFA has definitely been accepted as a part of Star Wars in my mind.

Attack of the Clones - This movie was a mistake.

I take it this is the only big budget film you’ve seen in the last 10 years.

Don’t worry. I gave up trying to prevent people around here from being wrong.

Honestly, that’s not too far off. Most movies I watch are the established “classics”. The only time I typically watch new “big budget” movies are when I’m going to see them with friends or family. So yes, I’m relatively unexposed to ADHD-cam.

Point being TFA is pretty far down the list when it comes to recent movies of that type.

TFA might be a better film than ROTJ, but my cognitive bias will deny that fact. Maybe Episode VIII will be better than both films, Episode IX definitely not.
