If Lego makes a Rouge One set with a Vader minifig, I hope they are able to give him red eyes…

The controversial Shore Trooper.

I like him. I think he’s got a sort of recon or heavy scout look to him. Like a UDT or Navy SEAL for Star Wars.

I gotta say again, it’s always so nice to see physical costumes. I just remember how excited George was when they were doing the clones in all CGI and just how much better it’s been to have real props for the majority of these new movies.

I see elements of the Biker Scout and regular troopers in there. What appears to be breathing gear on the back is a nice touch too.

Scout trooper was my first thought as well. Actually, that’s what I thought it was at first glance. Fits well with the OT.

Does anyone else think that K-2SO might turn on the rebels at some point during the movie? He’s a reprogrammed Imperial droid that could be easily capable of killing them, and I would think that he could somehow be reverted to factory default. What if the Imperials reset him, causing him to attack the rebels? This seems like a very good plot device to me.

We’ve never seen a droid memory wipe on screen, but unless he’s got one of these, I would think it take a bit of time to revert to his original programming.

For “Rogue One: A Star Wars Ridiculous Story”, you could use Bender’s dialogues from Futurama as K-2SO voice (“Kill all humans !”).

By the way: 3 months and it’s released… in France… two days later in the US… (😃)

Some fans had the same idea;

There is one part of R1 that I will most likely dislike. I just hate it when there is a band of random “cool” guys put together to do something. All it usually does is introduce a bunch of boring characters and steals the screen time that could be used to better develop the main character. I would prefer a more personal journey with the focus on the main character.

You should watch Seven samurai.

Were The Dirty Dozen, (which I think may be a template for some of this) just a bunch of random cool guys?

I think that is the main reason why I find other Kurosawa’s films better.

“NEW RUSSIAN ROGUE ONE POSTER”

“NEW CINEMATIC TOY AD FEATURES ‘ROGUE ONE’ SHORETROOPERS IN ACTION”

Saw Garrera will apparently have a robotic leg in addition to his life-support armor in Rogue One;

I also found this interesting (and I guess it’s sort-of RO related? It could be anyway, who knows);

That looks like the Tarkin bust I saw on display at Monsterpalooza a couple years back. They could have bought or borrowed it to use as a scanning reference though.

I was reading about how they wish to connect the Rebels animated series and Rogue One somewhat.

So I think “Tarkin” will be in this 100% but what about Admiral Thrawn?

Do you think he will appear in Rogue one?

I think there is a possibility. And I would actually like to see an Alien in the Empire. I don’t follow the cartoons though so I know very little of his involvement in this show.

I also have a suspicion that the important Cameo in the Re-shoots could be good old Palps because there is not any cameo’s left really coming to think of it.

I suppose the droids C3-PO and R2-D2 but I think they would have been included from the start if they are to be in the film.

Careful Ronster, or they’ll be renaming everyone’s favorite protocol droid in Episode VIII.

I’m becoming concerned that this isn’t going to be as stand-alone as I’ve been hoping. Star Wars, under and because of Lucas, has long since become a convoluted, shrunken universe, incestuous mess. That’s what turned me away from the film/Lucas franchise and into the Daley and Zahn EU. New characters, new storylines, new worlds.

I understand Rogue One can’t be completely free of 1983-2005, but it now looks to be shaping up as some sort of Kumbaya for all the fractured fan bases.

I hope they at least don’t connect it with the Rebels crap.

Sort of I agree but if we are only talking about seeing a snippet of say Palpatine or thrawn it’s quite funny like the film with the most cameo’s ever?

But I am concerned about shoe Horning stuff in for the sake of it.

Could this important cameo be Wedge Antilles? Not entirely sure how that would be possible. Considering we saw the Emperor royal guard I think it has to be Palpatine In some way shape or form.

It looks like it’s becoming the new episode 3. In that the resolution is mentioned in the crawl of episode IV and it seems to belong more to the world of the OT without totally dismissing the prequels. So yes. Not stand alone at all. To be honest I’m okay with having three other films I can pretend are THE prequel trilogy. So an Obi-Wan in exile film or an Admiral Akbar movie wouldn’t hurt if they were good films. Television novels and comics are better for expanding universes in my opinion.

It’s strange you should say this as it’s been a thought that is on my mind this whole not having an opening crawl business and also Episode VII how the hell will the crawl be for Episode VIII with that weird cliff hanger ending?

Are we seeing a new tradition beginning to unfold in the spirit of those old TV Serials (Last Week on Star Wars…)?

Will opening crawls now tell us what happened in last weeks episode?

Episode VIII does not seem to be able to do anymore in it’s opening crawl than recite what happened in Episode VII and Episode IV tells us what happened in Rogue One.

Just Saying The original films always left a gap to ponder but it seems no more gaps now. And Rogue one if it does not have a crawl then we don’t get the important back story.
