Repairing an old N64 controller

Author

So due to a loose joystick, I dismantled my N64 controller in an attempt to fix it. Two problems: 1) I don’t know how to put it back together and 2) how do I tighten the stick (Fishing line? Dental floss? tape?)? I’ll be honest, I’ve gotten so many different YouTube videos that it’s hard to sift them all. I need moron instructions 😉.

I’ve never done this, but I have a bunch of loose N64 controllers. Let me know if you find anything out.

Some people do some shit where you put tape on the inside but I find that to be fucking stupid. Fill the bowl with a little apoxy to make the stick tighter, what happens is the stick grinds away bits of plastic out of the bowl so if you put some apoxy or glue to fill the bowl back in, it’ll be better but be careful not to fill it too much and let it dry. As for reassembly, just look it up on youtube I guess.

Call Susan in reception and let her know. It won’t show up on your bill.
