I don’t know really where to put this since there isn’t a General Movies thread but it seems Batman v Superman got some inspiration from Iron Man 2 which is probably why it wasn’t that good of a film. One of the “similarities” is a bit of a reach though.

Which one? The secret HQ one (since Tony’s identity is public) or the drunk one (since Bruce was faking, I think)?

I would say the drunk one, but really everything he says is a bit of a stretch. Still interesting, though.

Warcraft (2016) 4/10
They lost me with the flying beast. And, I can’t remember a single character’s name.

They lost me at the first frame of the trailer.

The difference is that Iron Man is likable.

I agree but that wouldn’t stop naysayers from screaming “rehash” at the top of their lungs

The drunk one. That’s like saying The Matrix ripped off The Warriors just because there are scenes in which punching is involved.

“Robin Hood-Men In Tights” (1993). Very funny. The lame Errol Flynn impression is almost as good as Prince John or the Sheriff of Rottingham. Girl is hot. Very good all around. TM

Jar-Jar is the Emperor in the extra special edition of ROTJ (scenes 1, 3, and then 6 to the end).

Well now I have to see it.

I saw this in theaters and loved it. A few years ago I rewatched it and I was like “what was I thinking?”

That is one of the three films I have walked out of a theater on.

Why all the hate for Men In Tights? I’ve never seen it, just curious.

Aliens (1986)

In terms of pure entertainment, this is an easy 10/10, and it remains one of my favourite movies to watch. The characters are all fun, even though a lot of them are stereotypes and not particularly well developed. The action is awesome, and is accompanied by excellent practical effects and costumes. Ripley is very well fleshed out here and Sigourney Weaver gets plenty of time to shine. The music is excellent, as always with James Horner, and the direction is great. The story is a little muddy and there are some plot holes however, and my least favourite thing about the film is how the Xenomorphs, portrayed as a intelligent and thoughtful creature in the first film, are downgraded to stupid beasts in this film, which means that you never really fear for the characters safety. Anyway, this film is tons of fun, and one of my favourite films, if not quite one of the best ones I’ve seen.

7/10

Both have subway trains in them. The Wachoswkis ripped Walter Hill off! 😉

This is why I don’t rate movies. If it’s one of your favorite films to watch, then why give it a lower rating for the sake of complaints that clearly don’t hinder your enjoyment of the movie?

Clearly. Did you know that both the Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind were shot on film? Not only that, but they were released in the same year.

Because I’m rating the movie in terms of quality, not enjoyment.

But why does quality really matter if you enjoy it?

The Secret Life of Pets - 5/10

Imagine Toy Story but with pets, toilet humor, minion references, and without the existentialism.

I imagine Storks is going to get a similar review.

Meh, don’t know, I just put it there anyway. Maybe I should have two different ratings, one for quality and one for enjoyment.

I don’t rate things, but if I express my opinion about a movie I usually differentiate between the two. For example, one of my favorite movies is the Village, but I don’t call it a great movie objectively.

Justice League: The New Frontier - 8/10

It’s sad that a direct to DVD animated movie is better than any live action film DC’s put out in years.

RIP Darwyn Cooke!
