Actually my dad prefers CD’s. Otherwise he wouldn’t have them as he obviously bought the records first.
It’s the fact that everything made for vinyl is mastered in a superior fashion. If CD’s were mastered better then this would be an entirely different discussion. But I don’t like my music brick-walled.
That’s a bit of an overstatement, but I concede it’s essentially true.
My point, though, is that vinyl’s other massively distracting and distorting drawbacks usually make vinyl sound worse, even notwithstanding the more tasteful masters.
Sometimes, although it really depends on the turntable to some degree.

I had to put my cat down today. He’d been my buddy for 13 years. We were very much a team. Nobody in real life knows me without knowing Dresden. Han & Chewie, Ray & Dresden. That kinda thing. His health was in decline for the past couple years, but he still ate and drank regularly and came to me for attention several times a day. I wanted to keep him around as long as the majority of each of his days was happy. Yesterday his health took a severe nosedive.
Tonight many friends and a surprising amount of slight acquaintances from the past 13 years met to celebrate his little cat life and to wish me condolences. It was really very nice. That so many people Showed up to show love and support over something that probably means little to nothing to them in their daily lives and with nothing to gain for themselves and with only hours of notice on a night that they certainly had other things to do… it’s left me quite overwhelmed. It the best way.
People can be really cool.

Ditto. My dog had to be put down while I was away in Canada. He was like my second brother growing up, and it ruined me that I couldn’t be there for him at the end. But being there would have ruined me as well. He was the best.

It wa the best possible scenario really. Health took a sharp turn for the worse yesterday, he was gone early today. I’ll be lucky if my end is that smooth and peaceful.
