X-Men (2000) - 6/10

Most characters are criminally underdeveloped, especially Cyclops, the action scenes are mostly lacking (apart from a very fun sequence involving Toad), and it tries to be overly gritty even though the premise is ludicrous. The CGI has dated considerably as well. But that being said, I love the relationship between Wolverine and Rogue, and between Charles and Erik. I liked most of the movie, so I guess that’s enough to recommend it.

Sweet Jesus.

That’s really cool and all, but it shatters my little world. I just assumed everyone born from the early 90s onward just stayed babies.

Lol. I get that response all over the internet.

Apart from YouTube comment sections. They’re always amazed at how old I am.

Just kidding of course, but you get the point.

Someone shares my opinion haha! Overall I found X-Men to be pretty subpar, X2 was alright, X3 was awful, both wolverine movies weren’t much, first class is my favorite so far (still not amazing) and Days of future past was alright.

Iv just never been a big fan of this franchise.

From memory, I liked all of them except The Last Stand and Origins: Wolverine. Everything else ranges froma six to and eight out of ten.

I’m not harsh on it. I think it’s a pretty good film, hence the above average rating I gave it.

X-Men: First Class (2011) - 8/10

Far better than I remembered. Love the dynamic between Charles and Erik and the action scenes are thrilling. Unlike the first X-Men, all the characters are well developed and contribute to the end battle. Apart from some ropey CGI, Michael Fassbender’s wavering accent and the villains slightly clumsy motives, I love it.

Kevin Bacon is also hilariously fantastic, nearly as good as Ian McKellen was in the first.

EDIT: Wolverine’s five second cameo is also one of the best things ever.

THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR

Finally! A free two hour campaign commercial for a white female former senator who opposes the NRA! Hillary just didn’t have enough from the hundreds of millions she has received from the gulf states and other foreign interests in return for DELIBERATELY turning the entire Middle East into a CRUEL AND CASTASTROPHIC PURGE. Trump’s behavior makes much more sense when we understand that we’re looking at his audition reel for the part of the ultimate evil white dude, but without making it too obvious to vainly hopeful conservatives.

Of course, it makes clear that NRA people aren’t concerned with protecting their families and constitutional rights, they are demented murder cult religious fanatics who have seized Catholic church buildings for their evil protestanty Masonicy ceremonies. Calvin and Luther got nothing on them. agonizing death at the hands of the righteous black and Hispanic gangbangers is the least TEA party people deserve! Let their children be VICIOUSLY “re-educated” again and again and again!

It touches all the bases. A heroic Italian secret service warrior for good, saintly gangbangers, all blame is projected onto evil conservative white people AND NOT to the alien groups that hire our politician-traitors to bring in armies of latino ganbangers and jihadis by the millions…

Yet another excellent example.

I haven’t seen the film but it looks like the basis of his critique is sound in that the film was inspired by current U.S. politics.

I would find it extremely ironic if the film was meant to be pro-Hillary/anti-gun given the fact that in Purge lore it was President Hillary that enacted the Purge night into law in the franchises lore. =P
