The idea I came up with is that you tried to create the credits using the new forum software.

Not sure how I would convey the idea, though.

All I can think of is like the closing credits of Murder She Wrote, where the guy is typing a script on a type writer and then throws the finished product in the air (not saying that would work or anything, just that it is what comes to mind).

You could have it flash on the screens in this shot.

Maybe replace the opening crawl?

Super Grover can be saved for ESB (note to Wook - post it in that thread) as it would be inconsistent with the rest of the scene here.

You could use it when Yoda jumps down to Bail’s speeder. It could take him a while to get there. 😉

Already suggested that myself earlier but decided it wouldn’t be a good fit.

Possibly not legible but it would be fun to do that before Johnny shows up to invite them to the wonderful party.

Of all the monitor possibilities, I still think the one that Anakin knocks into on Mustafar is the biggest, and most likely to be legible. It’s a fast shot, though.

Any particular reason? I think the joke only really makes sense if there’s supposed to be text there. We expect the crawl to say something (as we expect posts to say something), so putting the Markdown syntax there would seem (I think) to be the best fit for the joke (that and subtitles being the only place in the SW saga where we typical read things - literally never read words on screens because of the different alphabet).

If you already have something planned for the crawl, you could easily start it with the Markdown syntax, then have a “JEDIT:” and move on to whatever else.

I don’t have anything planned for the crawl yet, but I don’t want the very first thing in the movie to be an ot.com inside joke.

The Mustafar control room has lots of big screens in it, but I can’t recall how much of them appear in Frink’s edit.

There’s also the bridge of Steve’s ship at the beginning of the movie. But the screens there are oddly shaped.

It’s also a lot easier on Frink if it’s a shot where the background isn’t moving.

Fair enough, though I think most would get the joke of “crawl writer fucked up typing/formatting” without needing the basis of OT.com.

Hmmm, interesting point.

The other problem is that the crawl would be pretty boring to read once you got the initial joke. I don’t know that I like the idea of interrupting with a JEDIT either.

You could always stick it in the closing credts. 😉

During the Lava fight a screen shows the room they are fighting in moving into the lava field after the controls have been struck.
That sounds like a good place to me.

You could have it flash briefly when Palpatine shuts off the screen in his office.

How about while playing back the killing of the younglings?

That’s a good idea…I think there’s at least one close up that shows the screen filling the entire frame.
