Completed final sequence:
The black bars make perfect sense as you keep snapping back to “reality”.
I keep imagining a flashing neon Plot Convenience Escape Vent sign over the opening Yoda uses to flee. It underlines how stupid the clones are for not suspecting he might have gone out through there.😉
Where were you in '77?
A near masterpiece my recommendation on how to improve the totally finished and final product would be to make the music a bit more prominent. Though I can understand the desire to not drown out the brilliant sound effects. Well done sound actor team.
I agree that the music isn’t quite noticeable enough at this level. Also, I’ve kind of grown attached to the Super Grover yell idea, haha.
Edit: The effect look great, btw. I think you nailed what you were going for, and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg (not an Anakin pun), bravo.
Super Grover can be saved for ESB (note to Wook - post it in that thread) as it would be inconsistent with the rest of the scene here.
The music levels are still a work in progress and also note youtube and vimeo are not giving you an accurate representation of the levels that will be on the DVD…but with that said it’s the sfx that are the most important to hear. The song is not as important since it’s kind of filler.
I think I’ve become attached to the Super Grover thing because it sounds reasonably like Yoda. In different circumstances surrounding the fall, I think it would be great, but I agree it probably doesn’t fit with the style and audio effects you’re going with.

SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.
^That should honestly be added to this forum.
So now the question is - how to use that idea? 'Cause I want to use it.
I want to use it in this movie, not Jedi, as who knows if forums will even exist by the time I get there, and we’ll all be long dead anyway. Certainly we’ll have forgotten what it means.
So…which scene/shot should I do it in? And is there any way to explain it to the rest of the world, or is it just one of those random ot.com references that no one else will get? Is it this movie’s “Deliberate Creative Decision?” Should I…put it in the crawl?
Can you somehow get it to display on the screen on Mustafar when Anakin bashes into it (causing all of the lava machinery to go to shit)?

Just replace the credits with it. Show it for like five minutes, then quickly go through the actual credits.
On second thought, 5 minutes is a bit much, maybe 1 minute.

Oooh I like that. Not sure if it would be large enough to be visible, however. Maybe I can find a similar but larger spot?
…
The hologram when Ani is late to the meeting and Obi is telling him how the war is going?
Don’t remember that scene, will have to look. Would have been great in II concerning the missing planet, either in the library archive or the hologram.
You could put it into Episode IV with the tractor beam controls.
I’d say it’d have to be during a computer display (or on all computer displays) or when someone/thing bangs on something that isn’t working, in an attempt to get something to work, or ends up breaking something… In short, either something that is “mistakenly” included on some or all electronic output, or pops up as a giant error code in response to an aggressive action.
I’d have to actually watch the damned movie again to narrow it down… Should I?

Oh, and just had a thought, perhaps the moment Padme tells Anakin she’s pregnant, you could throw up a Windows Blue Screen of Death (or replace his face with one) for a beat (comedic length of your choosing). Or a pop-up error over his face… (the markdown thing inspired this comment).

Yeah but I don’t really think there’s a good place for it in this movie.
Wherever it goes in the film, I agree with 005 that it should be in the credits. First and second (maybe even third?) listings.

I agree. No matter what, it’s going to be a bit of an OT insider joke. But at least if it’s on a screen somewhere, or similar, it can be recognized as an error-type message by others. Putting it in the credits or crawl really only makes sense to those of us reading the thread. And even then, I would argue that the text’s presence alone isn’t very funny (see HansiG’s post), especially once you’ve seen a few Markdown jokes already.

It could go over his forehead, kind of like when his internal monologue gets the black box when it swears.

YOU’RE WRONG
The idea I came up with is that you tried to create the credits using the new forum software.

Every hologram, every screen, they all have markdown instructions overlaid. Let’s do this.

Tempting…

Not sure how I would convey the idea, though.
