I just hope I get home in time to clear off space and start the download before he gets spiteful on us… His abuse really needs to be dealt with.

Message an admin directly and state your complaints. I did earlier today, and if a number of people do the same we might get a good result.

That’s impossible, even for a computer.

Wow, very nice… I’ve really got to get home and grab this before the apparent inevitability happens.

Hi Williarob,

Thanks for this amazing work. I’ve just watched it and it’s amazing. Best SW77 release ever !

Just two tiny improvements for 1.7 :

  • 81’ crawl subs : when using 81’ crawl, the subs are not fitting anymore (only during the crawl because of the different timing).

  • More audio tracks (like Hairy-Hen’s 5.1, french, german, etc.).

Again : thank you so much !

Perhaps you should tell Catbus your suggestion since that’s his domain.

Thanks for all the work on this.
One minor detail is at the end of the credits it still says (V1.5)
Perfect otherwise.

Williarob, can you please make sure that 1.7 correctly says 1.6?

Thanks

Ah. Missed that. Oh well too late now. It hardly seems worth 3 full days re-encoding, rebuilding, raring and paring etc just for that. Besides, I only called it v1.6 to make it easier to find and to distinguish from what came before, really the original upload was just a beta version, and this is the final 1.5 release with the bugs worked out.

Mr. Brown (formerly of Team Negative One) and I worked together to fulfil the team’s earlier promise of an improved bluray version, and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do, but for me at least, it’s on to Team Blu projects now… Which may yet include the 35mm ESB and Jedi projects TN1 didn’t get to… And maybe even a new version of Star Wars based on Poita’s scan, as well as a bunch of other films I’ve never even seen. So that should be fun.

But there won’t be a SSE v1.7. If you’re on the fence about downloading because you think 1.7 is coming soon, then let me help you decide. As far as this scan goes, there is a law of diminishing marginal returns and while there is still room for improvement, I think it is wiser to move on to Poita’s scan and see what Team Blu can do with that.

Just joking about 1.7 of course. This is great, thanks again.

Best of luck with the new all star team.

Should Team Blu work on ESB and ROTJ 35mm, would they still call them Silver Screen Edition?

I don’t know. It would be nice to have a “Silver Screen Trilogy”, but at the same time it’s probably wise to distinguish Team Blu’s work from that of TN1… And with Harmy and Dre on board, perhaps “Ultimate Edition” would be a better title.

I would have to change the name of my project haha but I’d gladly do so if the name goes to a much more worthy project.

Obviously, this is just my interpretation as he has not made any attempt to clarify his intentions. However, his deletion spree began right after that preview was removed. He is temporarily “allowing” this one so long as no one attempts to discuss behind the scenes aspects in the myspleen comment section.

I don’t blame him at all for being pissed off at people trashing his name, and constantly being dicks to him all because of an allegation made against him by one person.

Oh and @Williarob - NOOO! You removed the sacred burn marks!! 😦 I guess I’ll have to make my own version.

I’ve asked this twice before and it’s gotten lost in the shuffle, but now that I actually have the thing it’s become more pressing. Can someone tell me whether it’s possible to mux the 5.1 into the existing BD with the seamless branching using some manner of freeware, or am I going to need to make an MKV?

I believe somebody seemed to mention that it’s possible through multiAVCHD or tsMuxer. Don’t know which one, haven’t used either.

I think I just saw a .MKV of this on some site, somewhere, it had just the 5.1 Audio. =)

I thought I recognized your foul stench when I entered this forum!

Making an MKV would be the easiest option. But yes you could mux it with TSmuxer so long as you split the file first into the two parts first (flyover and main movie).

Rob I hope you don’t mind me asking…
When I use makemkv, I see two 35GB files. Do I use title00 or title01 to create an MKV or is there any difference at all?? I would appreciate an answer 😄! And thank you again. this blu ray is amazing

This refers to the seamless branching done for the crawls. The first one is the '77 crawl and the second the '81.

As above, but also you can open the playlist files in media player classic or VLC to work it out. You can also use mkvtoolnix and us the playlist as the input file.

The Tantive marks? Yeah, sorry, I have no nostalgia for them. There are smaller brown marks like that throughout the film and I did my best to remove them all.

If you meant the Reel Change marks, they are still there. Only the “home made” white blotches (made with Tippex/Whiteout?) got removed.

The one in your example image looked like someone punched a hole with a pencil. Glad it’s fixed!
