Fantastic! Does it mean that those of us who didn’t download the previous version yet can wait a few days for the fixed version?
yep, that’s exactly what it means.
You’re too good for this forum 😃 Great.

all (very well deserved) praise aside, I did seem to notice a shot that looked like it got left out during the cleaning process. Around 00:09:45 when C-3PO says “what mission, what are you talking about?” it looks like 3PO’s head is being swarmed by flies (very splotchy dirt marks)
around 01:10:00 there’s an audio glitch when CPO says “that isn’t very reassuring” instead of the word “that” there’s a tiny piece of audio score from probably a different part of the film.

Actually that looks like it was cleaned, but then color corrected, without the fixes being refreshed to match the new colors… Might need that re-encode after all…

Presumably that is in the mono mix? The mono mix was missing a number of frames throughout the film. I did my best to patch the holes using the existing version of the mono mix, but I’m not as good at working with audio tracks as I am with video, so apologies for that.

media player is actually telling me it’s the stereo mix, so is Kodi.

or even that VCD version you’ve been secretly wanting.
Got a laugh out of me on that one.
Interesting. Well I didn’t edit the stereo mix at all, so I guess that is how it is on the laserdisc.
Meanwhile, I have fixed the visual glitches in the “What Mission?” 3P0 shot in the desert - (it was just as I suspected).
With that in mind, are there any other major visual glitches that will require a re-encode? Speak now or forever hold your peace. Actually I’ll give you until tomorrow morning as I’m sure not everybody is reading this post right now this second.
It will take a day or two to fully re-encode the whole movie and rebuild the disc, so if there is anything else that needs fixing, now is the time to speak up!

Since it looks like you’ll be doing one last reencode and compiling the BD again, with all the “unknowns” about the included audio it might be a good time to consider hairy_hen’s thorough '77 stereo audio restoration. I agree his 5.1 mix would be out of scope (and I’d like to be clear I’m not asking for that) for a 35mm preservation, but I would encourage you to look at some of the options available, especially if there are odd issues cropping up in this laserdisc audio source you’ve chosen (beyond all the distortion, etc., issues hairy_hen already mentioned about this same source).

You might be right, I switched to the mono mix and the glitch isn’t there. The laserdisc audio also seems to have some other minor issues too, around 01:19:00 the audio seems to be slightly out of sync, but as you said, that’s probably just the way the laserdisc audio is…
But again, thanks and congratulations on this stunning release.
For those who are interested, something seems to have popped up again on the spleen…
I would suggest double checking all of the trench run shots where the lasers are very small, since the cleanup has a tendency to erase them:
This is just an example of the type of shot I’m talking about, I don’t know if any in this shot were deleted.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)

I’ve spotted two missing lasers in the Tantive sequence, in the shot where the stormtroopers start filling into the corridor one stormtrooper fires two shots against the wall.

Well, the audio glitch is not in the version I’ve posted to MySpleen in the LD audio archive. Let me know if you need another copy of the '77 stereo mix.
Edit: But there is something odd there on the untouched LD audio. The audio switches polarity at that point. I had patched that spot from one of the Analog discs for the finalized track in the LD audio archive.
If I had some gum, I’d chew a hole into the sun…

Do you happen to have the frame numbers?

Do you happen to have the frame numbers?
No, should I post some comparison images instead?
One minor glitch that I notice when watching SSE, is in this shot: https://picasaweb.google.com/102542760950977079734/StarWarsSpecialEditionChangesHD#5514975327942007154
There’s a point where there’s some artifact or warping in the bottom right corner.
Also, I wouldn’t normally have mentioned it since it’s not a big deal and SSE isn’t meant to be 100% dirt free, but since it’s right nearby where I’m talking about: the very next shot (after the wipe) has some pretty huge visible damage on a few frames, from what I recall.

Fixed the warping and the problems with the shot after the wipe. Keep 'em coming!

Alright here is the first missing laser:
Silver Screen Edition v1
Puggo Grande
Another laser is fired after this one which is also missing in the SSE.
Have you considered putting some foreign language audio tracks on the BD50 aswell, like any German track available out there for instance?
BTW Rob, I think that little bit of sharpening you added to the bluray really helps to bring out all the detail without it looking artificial or overly sharpened in any way.

To fix it, I’d think you’d have to have the proper frames on hand, meaning the problem was introduced down the line. So, what caused that? Was it a mistake of automated cleanup?
Where can I find this 1.5 version of the SSE?
Just wait til Williarob puts out 1.6 with these corrected errors.
