I just recently listened to that one. I’m not sure if I like Grand Illusion or Pieces of Eight better.

I prefer The Grand Illusion, personally.

THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.

Not the best of their work by a long shot, but it has a few great tracks. To be honest, I had not put this original version of the album on in quite a few years and had completely forgotten how overblown the orchestra overdubs were. The “Naked” version is much better IMHO.

You know…I have always wanted to listen to an entire Beatles album in one sitting. The next time I get high I’m going to do it.

I agree about the “Naked” reedit of Let It Be. The Long and Winding Road and Across the Universe got the brunt of the orchestra overdubs if I recall correctly.

Thumbs up to ZZ Top also. I think Fandango! is my favorite of theirs, followed by Eliminator.

I like this thread because there’s good album art in here.

Please let it be Abbey Road.

I’d also consider Rubber Soul a good first full album for them.

Eh.

I like that album but Lightning Crashes is just ok. Maybe because I heard it 8,000,000 times on the radio but still.

Top only at a 6/10 is a crime, however.

And am I the only one who thinks Live went downhill right after that album? Kind of like Radiohead and Amnesiac.
