The Master (2012) - one of my all time favorites. Not quite on the level of There Will Be Blood (which I consider to be perfect), but still incredible, and unquestionably on the shortlist for Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s best performance.

What makes you enjoy the Hunger Games movies so much?

Agreed 100%. It’s not as brilliant as There Will Be Blood but it’s a beautiful, powerful film. And I think it’s Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s greatest performance no doubt.

Don’t do drugs, unless you’re with me.

Yeah, you don’t usually enjoy things that other people find generally good.

Oh, God, no – I’m in danger of slipping into conventionality!

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - 10/10

What else would I give it?

A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) - 7/10

Very dour and depressing. Pretty good anyway.

The Avengers (2012) - 7/10

In terms of enjoyment, this would be a ten, but it does have a few flaws, particularly in terms of the plot.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) - 6/10

Far too many characters and messy plotting save this from being a better film.

X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) - 7/10

Great acting and characters, and interesting and unique action, but also many plot holes and uneven pacing.

The Terminal (2004) - 6/10

Colourful cast of characters, some better than others. At times overly pretentious and sappy. I enjoyed it despite it’s flaws though.

Shaun of the Dead (2004) - 9/10

Hilarious, but also very heartfelt and real. Had great characters. Certainly my favourite comedy film.

If it were about 30 minutes shorter I’d give it a 10/10

Iron Man 3 - 5/5

I would go as far as to say I liked it more than The Avengers.

I’d suggest you just skip part two if you haven’t seen it yet.

So, skip half the movie and the finale to the entire series? Sounds stupid.

I wouldn’t go 5/5 but I really enjoyed it. I didn’t read the comics so the Mandarin switch was funny and charming. The whole PTSD and Tennessee stuff was gold IMO. Age of Ultron and IM3 are often hated on but I think they’re both pretty great. Age of Ultron has some pacing issues and a slightly overcrowded plot but I think it’s a incredibly fun movie.

Hello. I’m new to the place (since I couldn’t find a newcomers thread or something). Anyway, last movie I saw was this month’s release…Angry Birds the Movie. I thought it was all right.
